Matteo Ferrari wins with Honda in Moto3
The Italian rider triumphs aboard the Honda NSF250R of the San Carlo Junior Team
Only 15 years Matteo Ferrari he has already won the title of European Moto3 class champion. On the Albacete circuit, in Spain, the Italian rider riding the Honda NSF250R of the San Carlo Junior Team won a beautiful race (with over 30 riders on the grid!) on a difficult circuit, normally a "hunting ground" for Spanish riders.
Last year it was Romano Fenati, now a promising Italian talent in the MotoGP, who won the European title, and thus Matteo Ferrari's feat confirms the quality of the Honda Italia rider "nursery" which, after participating in the HIRP - Honda Italia Racing Project –, successfully enter the international scene.
Matteo Ferrari's career began very early, so much so that at the age of 5 he was already racing on minibikes and in 2009 he was already European champion of the specialty. It was precisely by riding these brilliant vehicles intended for the little ones that he made the decision to take a decisive step forward in his competitive maturation, participating in the HIRP, Honda Italia Racing Project, in 2010, with the high-performance Honda NSF100s, true racing motorbikes built with nothing less than the HRC.
At the end of 2010, thanks to the quality and effectiveness of the HIRP training method, Matteo Ferrari was the winner in the "Extreme" category. 2011 arrives and the natural step towards grand prix motorbikes. Matteo remains in the Honda family and lands on the RS125 GP Trophy which, on his debut, he wins at just 14 years old.
Today in Albacete, in a hard-fought race, Matteo Ferrari preceded the Spaniard Juanfran Guevara by three thousandths of a second and the other Italian Kevin Calia of the Elle 2 Ciatti team by almost two tenths.
The next challenge for the young Italian rider and the Honda NSF250R of the San Carlo Junior Team is the last CIV race in Vallelunga next weekend of 13 and 14 October.
