Historical notes

Malaguti was originally a bicycle repair and resale workshop, founded in 1930 in the La Campana hamlet of San Lazzaro di Savena (BO). After the Second World War, the creation of the first bicycles equipped with an engine (Mosquito) began, characterized by a central beam frame and roller traction. Then in 1957 the development of a moped by inserting suspension, drum brakes, tank and a 49 cc two-stroke engine from the German Espress Werke. The “Express” and the “Express Sport” were given shape, as remembered.
Later, the supply of engines from Motori Franco Morini allowed the creation of the historic Malaguti 50 Gransport, known in France as the “50 Olympique”, followed at the end of the 60s by the 50 Roncobilaccio. At the time one of the first off-road mopeds developed in Italy. Then again in the 70s interesting productions were created such as the Fifty, while the Malaguti Runner 80, a compact enduro, dates back to the 125s.
Arriving at the end of the 90s, the Bolognese brand specialized in scooters and models known to many young people of the time were proposed such as the Phantom F10 of 1994, made for 13 years until 2007, concluding with the F12 and the F12R. While a close collaboration with Ducati has allowed the creation of various Ducati Corse branded examples and replicas. The brand has even been a protagonist in the MotoGP, taking part in four seasons since 2003 with a 6th place achieved in each year.
Since 2018, the Malaguti family has transferred the license to use the brand to the Austrian group KSR Group, also owner of Lambretta, reporting a new range of examples at EICMA. Today Malaguti offers scooters such as the Madison 300 and motorbikes ranging from Sports (RST 125) to Street (Montepro 125), from Supermoto (XSM 50 and 125) to Enduro (XTM 50 and 125) up to Adventure (Dune 125), such as remembered.

The vehicle features a TFT display, USB charging socket under the saddle, a compartment that can accommodate a full-face helmet and a jet helmet, distinctive aesthetics, adjustable windshield and disc brakes. The length amounts to 2.135 mm, the width is 790 mm and the height is 1.395 mm, therefore a weight of 188 kg. The single-cylinder engine of 278 cc transmits 16 kW of maximum power at 7,250 rpm which allows the vehicle to navigate between the city and an extra-urban context. Offered in red or black, also in the Anniversary Edition version, prices are indicated on this occasion starting from 4.299 euros, ex-dealership (sales price including 300 euro discount from 1st to 31st July 2020), as specified.
