Dox Art Factory – Among the protagonists of the first day there Motor Bike Expo there is the Dox Art Factory di Lorenzo Dossena, a well-known international custom painter, with whom we took a journey through colors and style, always in the name of customization.
Lorenzo, what do you think of this tenth edition of the Motor Bike Expo?
“I have been participating in this initiative all my life, but for the first time I am here as an exhibitor with my own stand. We have some important projects and I decided to collect them and bring them together."
The most diverse models will find their place on your stand. Can you describe your works to us?
“The first is Record Morotcicle which involves the construction of a motorcycle and a new eight-cylinder engine that will try to break the speed record in Boneville next year. I am part of the official team. Then we have a project by PSM Bike, a very good tuner who created this three-wheeled Harley with a very aggressive look. He built many details, exploiting the technology of two-wheel scooters and adapting the parts, such as the two front wheels which are from a VFR. It's an irreverent debut, but much appreciated. Then we have the Monster created by Luca Lamperti who surpassed the vision of the motorcycle. In his mind is an alien pear called Apophis, like the asteroid that circles the earth constantly. I decorated the motorbike directly on the metal to have a great three-dimensional effect. The signs that look like ideograms, like an alien message, at a Nico point make up the writing Raw Bike. The flagship of the stand is the American Dream count 32-inch front rim bugger. I created a particular futuristic decoration with a photosensitive paint."
Ma non e tutto…
"Already. In the middle of the stand there is a working helicopter from a Swiss company with which we have created a unique work. Ours is a very scenic stand."
How was your artistic project born?
“The message I want to send is that I can adapt to the most disparate requests. I start from the client's request as a professional and try to accommodate him. Then my vision as an artist intervenes, but only at a later moment. Every motorbike transmits a message and art is communication”.
One last thing: what is custom today?
“In my custom painting sector, take advantage of the opportunities that come your way. There are colleagues who try to impose their ideas on the customer but this doesn't always pay off. The thing to do is to get into the customer's head as if he were the one working on the bike. This is the essence of the professional."
