What happened in an apartment in the center of is incredible, as well as dramatic Bologna. A man ended up under accusation hoverboard which caught fire while it was connected to the electrical system, starting a fire throughout the house.

Following the incident - which also caused several burns to the owner - the file ended up on the desk of the Public Prosecutor Nicola Scalabrini has opened an investigation for negligent fire which sees the company's legal representatives investigated X-Joy srl, manufacturer of the brand Twodots, based in the Varese area, and of Unieuro, where the product was purchased. Hoverboards are a real cult object among young people, but it is not the first time that these electric skateboards have played tricks on them. Already in the past, various explosions have been recorded both in the USA and the United Kingdom, so much so that the well-known e-commerce portal Amazon decided to suspend sales for a few months between 2015 and 2016 and many airlines to ban it from flights.

The one in Bologna is the first case registered in Italy. According to the prosecutor, the fire was caused by a defect in the lithium batteries or in the charger. We are now awaiting the outcome of the trial which could lead to compensation from the manufacturing company and Unieuro. The lawyer Federico Bonzi, legal X-Joy srl, however, announces battle: “Our consultants will file observations to clarify that it is not yet certain that the fire started from the hoverboard“. She echoes him Simone Sabattini, Unieuro lawyer: “The risk of lithium batteries exploding is known. Unieuro sold almost 50.000 pieces of that brand in 2017, if that example was defective we will compensate in civil proceedings as established by law, but on a criminal level the accusations are non-existent".
