It's official: in the paddocks of the 2011 season there will also be Yamaha EC-03. Yamaha MotorEurope e Dorna Sports, exclusive holder of the commercial and television rights for the MotoGP World Championship, have in fact announced the entry of the brand new Yamaha EC-03 into the fleet of vehicles for moving around the paddocks. The Yamaha EC-03, fully electric, will replace the fleet of Yamaha JogRRs currently used within the MotoGP paddocks.

As an official supplier, Yamaha Motor Europe will provide a fleet of EC-03s, to be used throughout the 2011 season. Each model will be customized with dedicated graphics and logos: a livery that reflects its role as the official vehicle of MotoGP. The presentation of the electric vehicles took place in Estoril, Portugal, during the last race weekend.

Yamaha has been Dorna's official scooter paddock supplier since 2005. The novelty of the year, the electric vehicles, are part of a program that aims to increase the level of awareness of motorcyclists towards issues such as the environment and safety. The Dorna projects that revolve around these two topics are different, and are united by the slogan "For a Seafer and Greener Future".

Raffaella Pasquino, Scooter Marketing Manager of Yamaha Motor Europe explains: “The long-standing relationship between Yamaha and Dorna Sports is a source of pride and new ideas for us. Bringing the new electric Yamaha EC-03s into the paddocks means underlining our common commitment to a cleaner future."

The CEO of Dorna Sports, Carmelo Ezpeleta, adds: “We are particularly satisfied with this new episode of the collaboration with Yamaha Europe. The use of vehicles with low environmental impact is perfectly in line with our Charter of Values".
