Lampa Action-Cam Plus – In recent months we have had in our hands what we would define as a good product in the panorama of so-called action cameras. Oh yes, because this camera was a really nice surprise, both for the quality demonstrated in the field and for the completeness of the set of accessories it is equipped with at a truly super accessible price.

If you are not a professional or a shooting maniac, but you want to have the possibility of shooting excellent quality scenes, without having to commit a kidney, we would say that this is a truly perfect choice. The cam is equipped with all the features necessary for an optimal video result, both in full HD at 1080p at 30fps, or in HD at 720p at 60fps, the latter option is actually the one that gives the best results in our opinion.

Lampa Action-Cam Plus, we were saying, has A truly complete set is supplied as can be seen from the photo and, in addition to being inclusive of an anti-shock case with interchangeable cover which guarantees absolute waterproofness up to 30 m, it provides the necessary bands for be able to mount the device in any position, from the classical one for example on a bike helmet or on your chest or generally wherever you prefer since there are also some 3M high-strength adhesive bands.

For the road test we used the box with waterproof lid but if you want to make the most of the microphone it will be better to use the cover with slits provided specifically for this purpose.
We must say that we really appreciated the variety of standard devices suitable for fixing which allow a very personalized modulation of the shooting angle or height, which can be both high above the helmet but also to the side for example, with a set truly complete with spacers.

La battery from 900 mAh it is interchangeable, has excellent durability and in the testing phases guaranteed use for one 1h 15min without ever turning it off with an hour of abundant footage in HD at 30fps. Considering that it has always been connected to the iPhone app, which has certainly increased its consumption, we would say that the result can be considered more than good.

The controls are very accessible and they somewhat replicate the structure of the most famous competitor but they can all be managed remotely through the DV Smart app which can be downloaded for free from both the Apple and Google stores; from the same app it will therefore be possible to have, through the monitor of our smartphone, a real time display of the shot and we will thus be able to interact with all the various operational functions. These functions are accessible thanks to the integrated wi-fi module which allows a "direct" connection with the various devices on which the app in question is installed.

Lampa's management menus could perhaps be made a little more intuitive, but Overall they're not bad, are multilingual including Italian and also allow you to view the film or photographic shots you have just taken, through the brilliant 2-inch display mounted on the back which obviously also acts as a viewfinder for framing.

In photographic mode Lampa Action-Cam Plus also offers a time lapse function with which it is possible to set shooting sequences at programmable intervals. The mounted optics are wide-angle with a 170° vision while for recording you will use a micro SHDC card which can have a maximum capacity of 32GB while charging the device is entrusted to a micro USB port which, unlike the registration card not included, is accompanied by its own cable and device transformation for 220 volts. The device is solid, compact and efficient and guarantees a speed of focusing and light compensation that is fast enough not to disturb the final quality of the video, as can be seen from the video test in which it was placed on the top of the helmet by bike during an off road descent on a mountain bike.

The test then, as previously mentioned, continued uninterrupted between stand by and restart for approximately 1h 30min between shocks, vibrations and stresses of various types to which the LAMPA gave no signs of interference or disturbance. Effectively the only flaw to register is its regarding the App compatible with remote management which unfortunately was not 100% reliable and in some cases it was "unhooked" from the device in such a way that unfortunately it was not clear what had happened; in practice, if you don't check well you can believe that the cam is working when in fact it isn't and this can be very annoying. Probably this it is more attributable to the DV Smart app than to our camera, but perhaps a native device, which can also be purchased separately, would be desirable.

We tested also the case waterproof in water e no infiltrations occurred of any kind while the external mechanical controls have always continued to do their job very well, guaranteeing full functionality of the camera. The colors are saturated to the right point, bright and the fluidity of the images is remarkable, especially in HD and the final result, in multiple conditions of use, is satisfactory result especially if you consider the price with which this cam can be purchased together with a whole range of accessories for all needs and all uses without having to shell out further money.

Ultimately we believe this LAMPA Action-Cam Plus is an excellent compromise of functionality, performance and price; very suitable for those who want to start trying their hand at action shots or even for more "experts" but who perhaps for occasional use are looking for a very versatile product at an affordable cost.
