The new KX450F arrived stronger than before
New updates for the bike that dominated the motocross and supercross championships in the USA
La KX450F It doesn't need any introduction. To hold the KX450F MY2013 at the top of its class it has received important updates.
On the other side of the ocean, in the United States, this bike has dominated the motocross and supercross championships throughout the past year, winning both the AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross championship titles.
Once again this year, the 450 KX2012F proved to be unbeatable by winning the AMA Supercross Champion title for the second time in a row! In MX1, about halfway through the season, the KX450F is continually fighting for the podium, with a notable Kawasaki 1-2 in both races in Sevlievo, Bulgaria.
For 2013 the main improvements made to the new KX450F are: a new generation air front fork, for the first time on a production motocross bike! A more powerful engine and better ergonomics. With these changes, it's easier to tame the beast and drive it to the limit, thereby destroying the competition, anytime, anywhere.
Features:
– Technologically advanced suspension: Fork with Pneumatic Shock Absorption
This advanced design fork replaces springs with compressed air.
– Increases bottoming resistance and road holding
– During compression, the counterforce generated by the compressed air is more stable than the spring
– During the release the air offers less resistance than the spring
– Wide choice of adjustments
– The adjustment possibilities of a PSF are greater than in a traditional AOS fork
– Smooth Adjustments: Riders are not limited by their choice of standard/optional spring adjustments
– Hassle-free adjustment with an air pump and adapter
– Even more powerful engine
Increased performance across the entire range of use (especially the torque from very low to medium rpm) thanks to the redesign of the crown
of the piston and the ECU mappings
– Launch Control mode
The system used by the official AMA team gives the rider extra help in starts with poor grip
– DFI Mapping System
The plug-and-play DFI system offers the rider the possibility to choose 3 different engine maps: Standard, Soft, and Hard conditions. All maps can be reprogrammed using the KX FI Calibration Kit.
– Customizable Ergonomics
Riders can perfect their riding posture by choosing between 4 handlebar positions and 2 footpeg positions.
– Updated Uni-Trak rear suspension
– Narrower between the legs, an aid to the driver in races
– Updated braking system
The new discs are coupled to the new front brake pump and new pads, for even more decisive braking and greater control
– Team racing style
Rounding out the newly designed front fender and white rear fender, racing team graphics, black alumite* wheels, black fork guards, blue alumite* suspension adjusters and blue trim on some engine components give the KX450F a look reminiscent of very high performances
*Alumite: is an anodic oxidation finishing treatment for aluminum with the result of protecting with a covering film from corrosion and scratches.
