The KYMCO People S range offers products with a young and pleasant appearance that please the eye especially with small details that recall the past. The front end, not too pronounced, sober and characterized by classic and well-defined lines, is enhanced by the grille and the new shape of the headlight with blued visor.

The sharp shapes in detail but soft and rounded overall allow an easy connection of the volumes between the front and rear, enhancing the inclusion of contrasting plastics. The rear part characterized by the wedge of the headlight and the shape of the light alloy luggage rack represents all the functionality of the People S family. The instrument panel, the same for all versions, is made up of three circular elements. The largest, positioned in the center of the panel, functions as a speedometer, on the right is the fuel level indicator and on the left is a multifunction display that acts as a trip and total odometer and a clock. Accompanying these elements are the high beam, low beam and direction indicator lights. The underseat compartment (it can comfortably hold a jet helmet) is equipped with two convenient helmet hooks and in the larger displacement versions there is also a 12v socket where you can charge your mobile phone. Finally, the storage compartment positioned inside the front shield is practical and useful (with a maximum load capacity of 1,5 kg), where there is also a bag hook. The multifunction ignition lock is able to open/close the underseat compartment and the front compartment.

The main structure of the People S range is built using solid steel tubes reinforced at the points most subject to stress by robust pre-printed plates. The suspension department, the same for all versions, uses a 33 mm diameter hydraulic telescopic fork at the front with a travel of 95 mm, while at the rear there is space for a single swing arm with double shock absorber adjustable in precariousness with a travel of 74 mm for the 200 and 125 models. Reduced wheelbase for all models (200 1.332 mm, 125 1.400 mm), and in line with the direct competition, they guarantee the feeling and solidity necessary to easily navigate city traffic as well as characteristic extra-urban sections. by fast and wide-radius curves.

The People S 200i is powered by a single-cylinder 4-stroke with horizontal cylinder arrangement and forced air cooling, built entirely in the KYMCO factories. A sophisticated electronic injection system with SYNERJECT lambda sensor appears for the first time on the new People S 200i. The new fuel system helps to optimize the behavior of the engine, providing smoother power delivery. All this translates into a quicker response to the throttle command and with an almost non-existent on/off effect. Compared to the previous model, the max power and max torque have increased, giving the engine a more full-bodied and linear delivery throughout the entire range of use: the People S 200i engine always pushes and at any speed. The adoption of electronic injection has significantly reduced the emission of polluting exhaust gases and, with the aid of a trivalent catalyst with secondary air system, has made it compliant with Euro regulations. The distribution boasts a single overhead camshaft with forced lubrication, while the automatic dry centrifugal clutch works in symbiosis with a continuously variable speed gearbox. The transmission boasts a gear-driven V-belt. The max power for this engine is 8,5 kW (11,6 HP) at 7250 rpm while the max torque is 11,97 Nm at 5500 rpm.

Powerful and elastic, the 125 engine is a single-cylinder 4-stroke with horizontal cylinder arrangement and forced air cooling. The distribution boasts a single overhead camshaft while the lubrication is forced. The good work of the automatic dry centrifugal clutch, the continuously variable speed gearbox and the V-belt and gear transmission guarantee scorching starts and accelerations. The People S 125 engine is powered by a 22,1 mm diameter KYMCO carburettor. The engine in this configuration develops a max power of 7,59 kW (10,3 HP) at 7.500 rpm and a max torque of 10,36 Nm at 6.750 rpm. With this configuration the People S 125 complies with Euro 3 regulations.

Uneven terrain, cobblestones and tram tracks are digested without any problem by the People's chassis, thanks to the generous dimensions of the tires mounted on 5" 16-spoke light alloy rims: 100/80 for the front and 120/80 for the rear. The generous dimensions of the braking system, which guarantees excellent stopping distances, include a 260mm front disc for all models, while a 260mm disc works at the rear.

There is a wide range of accessories with which you can customize the People S range. They range from the windshield complete with attachments and smoked spoiler (Euro 99,14).
