The opening of online reservations for the purchase of an exclusive KTM RC8C, usable on the track, was set for the 16:00 of the July 22 2021. In the span of four minutes and 32 seconds the possibilities were already exhausted.

The motorcycle

Of the 100 units, 25 are intended for customers who have chosen to collect the model directly on the track, at the Spanish circuit of Jerez. In this context, from 7 to 9 October 2021 they will be able to spend interesting moments in the company of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team and riders such as Dani Pedrosa and Mika Kallio, who will give important riding advice. The press release states that a waiting list has also been opened, in case of any cancellations on the purchase.
Made in collaboration with Kramer Motorcycles, the motorbike features functional ergonomics with possible adjustments, fiberglass superstructures reinforced with carbon-kevlar panels, an appearance that recalls the KTM RC16 competition and protections. Among the features we also mention a 16-litre tank integrated into the self-supporting tail. The configuration with tank, rear subframe and saddle favors the centralization of masses.
The bike is equipped with Dymag UP7X forged rims measuring 3.5"x17" at the front and 6"x17" at the rear, fitted with Pirelli Diablo SC 1 slick tires measuring 120/70R17 and 180/60R17 respectively. Possibly the rear rim can fit sizes up to 200/55, according to the indications.

Technique and technology

The trellis frame is designed for track use and is made of ChromeMolybdenum steel (25CrMo4). The bike is equipped with a WP APEX PRO 7543 closed cartridge adjustable front fork with a WP APEX PRO 7117 adjustable steering damper and a WP APEX PRO 7746 monoshock with separate compression and rebound adjustments.
The braking system includes Brembo technology, consisting of a pair of Brembo Stylema® calipers with titanium screws and 290 mm floating discs at the front, while at the rear a 230 mm floating disc associated with a double-piston caliper.
On the handlebars is a Brembo 19RCS CORSA CORTA radial master cylinder. Developed in the racing sector, this solution allows you to adapt the position of the braking attachment point with a selector located on the top of the pump.
Given a Normal setting, marked “N”, the braking attack point is managed to ensure a gradual initial phase; while in the “S” configuration, the Sport one, there is a modulability and prompt response for a more dynamic response; finally in Race, indicated with "R", the initial phase is shortened to a minimum value for timely braking.

We also note a full-factory AIM MXS 1.2 RACE dashboard and a data logger with integrated GPS function, the TFT display is 5 inches. The data is recorded and can be analyzed with an AIM RaceStudio program.
The engine is similar to that of the KTM 890 Duke R, a heart twin cylinder LC8c da 889 cc, different mainly in the intake part and in the management of the engine. The intake system was created in collaboration with Twin Air and consists of a new airbox combined with a competition Twin Air filter, maximizing engine breathing and response. The model is also equipped with an exclusive stainless steel exhaust system made by Krämer Motorcycles which is associated with an Akrapovič titanium silencer with carbon end cap. The power reaches 128 horses with 101 Nm of torque, to be reported to 140 kg dry weight, as reported.
