KTM RC 8C: delivery of 25 units at the Jerez track [PHOTO]

KTM RC8C it is an exclusive prototype defined by hand and equipped with a track-ready chassis with components designed to compete and an 889 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine. They are scheduled 100 specimens e 25 of these were purchased with a Track Experience package to experience a day on the track in Jerez together with the official Red Bull KTM Factory Racing testers Dani Pedrosa and Mika Kallio, as well as a notable individual set-up studied by the WP Suspension technicians.

An interesting sporting experience

The guests came to the track last 7 October with the opportunity to witness an official Red Bull KTM Factory Racing test session from a VIP garage, followed by a private dinner with Dani Pedrosa, Mika Kallio and other members of the KTM-related Motorsport department, as reported.
The following day, the 25 buyers found the fleet of KTM RC8C already run in and ready for the new owners. The specimens were lined up in 6 pre-arranged boxes, arranged according to the purchase sequence that took place online. Once the KTM staff presented the KTM RC 8C to each customer, there was also a technical briefing with Mika Kallio and Dani Pedrosa, before accessing the track.
After the start, the customers carried out a few "warm up" laps following Pedrosa and Kallio, according to a grid order based on the order in the pits. Subsequently the riders were left free to ride for the rest of the day, while Dani Pdrosa and Mika Kallio, based on requests, remained available for individual coaching sessions.

The motorcycle

Le 100 units last 22 July they were sold out in just 4 minutes and 32 seconds. The example, developed in collaboration with Krämer Motorcycles, is characterized by functional ergonomics with possible adjustments, fiberglass superstructures reinforced with carbon-Kevlar panels and the design recalls the racing KTM RC16. Among the highlighted aspects is also a 16-litre tank, integrated into the self-supporting tail. They are noted 140 kg dry weight.
The bike is equipped with Dymag UP7X forged rims measuring 3.5"x17" at the front and 6"x17" at the rear, fitted with Pirelli Diablo SC 1 slick tires measuring 120/70R17 and 180/60R17 respectively. Possibly the rear rim can fit sizes up to 200/55.
The model is equipped with a full-factory AIM MXS 1.2 RACE dashboard and a data logger with integrated GPS function, the TFT display is 5 inches. The data is recorded and can be analyzed with an AIM RaceStudio program.
It features a trellis frame, designed for track use and made of ChromeMolybdenum steel (25CrMo4). The WP APEX PRO 7543 closed cartridge front fork is adjustable with an always adjustable WP APEX PRO 7117 steering damper, while at the rear there is a WP APEX PRO 7746 monoshock with separate compression and rebound adjustments.
The braking system includes Brembo solutions with a pair of Brembo Stylema® front calipers with titanium screws and 290 mm floating discs, while at the rear there is a 230 mm floating disc associated with a double-piston caliper.
The engine, similar to the one that powers the KTM 890 Duke R, it's a heart LC8c twin-cylinder da 889 cc, distinguishable above all in the intake part and in the management of the engine. The example is also equipped with an exclusive stainless steel exhaust system developed by Krämer Motorcycles which is associated with an Akrapovič titanium silencer with carbon end cap. The power amounts to 128 horses with a pair of 101 Nm, as mentioned.
