KTM RC 250 and KTM Duke 250 – The KTM RC 250 and KTM Duke 250 were presented at the 42nd Tokyo Motorcycle Show. The Austrian brand's two new bikes will be launched in June in Japan, with the RC 250 priced at 620,000 yen (4.799 euros at the current exchange rate) and the Duke 250 Duke at 550,000 yen (4.239 euro). The KTM RC 250 and Duke 250 will be produced exclusively in India, by Bajaj, and then exported across the world.

While the KTM did not release much information about them, officials from the Austrian brand said the engine is a downsized single cylinder compared to that of the 390, weighing 37,2 kg, capable of delivering 31 HP at 9.000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 24 Nm at 2.750 rpm. The KTM RC250 weighs 147kg, while the Duke 250 tips the scales at 139kg.

La KTMRC250 it will compete with the Honda CBR 250R and the Kawasaki Ninja 250SL. The bikes are mounted on the same steel trellis frame as its other “sisters”, and have inherited the design and many other features from the Moto3 Project. With regard to the cycling the variations compared to the 390 versions are modest and the superstructures are also practically identical.

In Japan the 250 displacement is very widespread and this is why KTM has chosen the country of the Rising Sun for the official launch of the two bikes. Arrival dates and prices are not yet known. Distribution in Europe is also to be confirmed.
