KTM: presented the new range of RC 125 and RC 390 models [PHOTO]

Sporty nature

A design that recalls that of the official motorbikes used in the MotoGP, a sophisticated electronic part and a sports-derived chassis are the interesting aspects of the RC 2022 range signed KTM. Compact and faired motorcycles in engine sizes 125 cc e 390 cc.

The specimens

The use of computational fluid dynamics programs has made it possible to define profiled and characterizing lines; in particular, extensive frontal surfaces are highlighted which gradually become more tapered, favoring greater mobility. They are also calamitous tone, two variants per model that underline the gritty character of the bikes.
The development of the fairing it also allows management of the heat transmitted by the engine, the internal and external surfaces of the side panels are designed to remove the flows of hot air. The new superstructures are also easily removable, given a limited number of fixing screws and a redefined assembly system, allowing the parts approved for road use to be easily replaced with "track-ready" plastics.
The dimensions of the tail have also been reduced to have a more streamlined profile with a renewed steel trellis rear subframe.

Technique and technology

Particular attention was paid to ergonomics, refining the knee support area to facilitate the rider's movements. Among the most important factors of the new models, weight reduction also stands out. The frame is lighter than 1,5 kg and the design of the wheels also allowed for savings 3,4 kg of unsprung masses, compared to the previous generation. The new ByBre braking system also weighs 960 fewer grams.
A new instrument panel appears Multifunction TFT in the support of the fairing developed in the upper part in die-cast aluminum and in the underlying part in composite material. The color TFT display adapts brightness based on ambient light and allows customization of graphics as needed. The system is designed for KTM MY RIDE, which allows the rider to connect his mobile device to the motorbike, being able to manage, for example, incoming calls via the control button on the handlebars. The 13,7-litre fuel tank is also new.
KTM RC 390 is equipped with a package of driving assistance systems usually available on larger displacement models such as SUPERMOTO ABS, cornering ABS and lean angle sensitive traction control, furthermore Quickshifter+ is optional.
On a technical level, the RC 125 features a WP APEX open cartridge fork with new sport settings and a new WP APEX shock absorber characterized by a piston with separate functions.
The suspension part of the RC 390 has also evolved, equipped with an adjustable WP APEX fork with open cartridge and separate hydraulic functions, an adjustment with 30 clicks in compression considering the left stem and in rebound switching to the right stem. The WP APEX monoshock is also adjustable in preload and allows you to adjust the rebound over a range of 5 clicks.
Each example of the KTM RC range is animated by a Euro 5 single-cylinder engine four-stroke, liquid-cooled. A four-valve twin-cam heart with electronic injection. There is greater torque compared to previous versions, taking into account a new design of the filter case. Also highlighted is a new engine mapping for the KTM RC 390 with an increase in torque and dynamism.

Proposal
