KTM: 2024 EXC range presented [PHOTO]

2-stroke and 4-stroke examples

La KTM EXC overview for 2024 it represents a further step forward from the point of view of innovations and performance, through an overall evolution. A range of models with 95% new components, featuring a new chassis, LED headlight and segment-leading technology, along with refined superstructures and closed-cartridge WP suspension.

The new proposal

The range consists of 2-stroke examples and ed 4-stroke examples. The first group includes: KTM 150 EXC TBI, KTM 250 EXC TBI e KTM 300 EXC TBI. While the KTM 250 EXC-F, KTM 350 EXC-F, KTM 450 EXC-F e KTM 500 EXC-F they are the motorbikes of the second group.
The KTM brand also offers articles from PowerWear clothing e PowerParts accessories, designed to optimize protection and dynamism.
The Enduro proposal for 2024 is characterized by new superstructures also defined thanks to the suggestions received from the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team riders. A functional choice for triangulation and contact with the vehicle, particularly when the rider rides using the footrests in an upright position.
The front mudguard has been redefined, the design of which includes fins to prevent dirt and mud from ending up on the rider or the radiators, furthermore there are new transparent polyethylene (XPE) tanks to 8,3 liters on EXC-F 4T and from models 8,9 liters on the EXC 2T.

The electronic management of the motorbikes is connected to the Offroad Control Unit, which takes the place of relays and fuses. In the event of a possible electrical malfunction, the outputs are individually deactivated; instead the error status of each unit is signaled by a red or green LED light. A solution that allows you to quickly diagnose faults on site and intervene. The Offroad Control Unit also manages the operation of the exhaust valve on the 2-stroke engines and the two optional maps, which can be selected via a block that can be placed on the handlebars.
The centerpiece of the 2024 range is the brand new hydroformed, laser-cut and robot-welded frame. An element with new longitudinal and torsional flex parameters, in order to add further energy absorption and stability on the forehand. The new rear subframe, developed in two parts with a combination of polyamide and reinforced aluminium, offers excellent handling and feedback, as suggested, together with strong consistency. This is what the Offroad Control Unit houses, for simplified access and improved protection of the electronic parts.
The chassis of the KTM EXC and EXC-F models includes a new 48-millimeter WP Behind the new specimens they always feature the proven progressive damping system (PDS), evolved and optimized for 2024, in order to operate at its best with the new chassis. A system associated with a new WP XPLOR PDS mono-shock.
The suspensions are adjustable in compression and rebound through manual adjustments and without the use of tools, while it is possible to manage the mono preload using a special wrench.

Thrusters

I 2-stroke engines with separate injection and mixing are equipped with a new Throttle Body Injection technology (TBI), which supports a more homogeneous power delivery and avoids the need to intervene on the carburetion as the altitude or weather conditions vary, as indicated. A technology, like the previous TPI, which favors a saving of mixture oil and a related reduction of emissions, according to the information.
The reed valve pack is also updated from a structural point of view and has plastic deflectors on the external part which optimally seal the entire intake tract. A new functional layout in preventing excess fuel during the most demanding climbs and descents.
Moving on to 4 KTM EXC-F 2024-stroke models, represent the symbiotic result of ergonomics, technological aspects and sporting attitude.
The optimization of the center of gravity derives from the backward rotation of the motor by 2° with the downward movement of the pinion by 3 mm, in favor of maneuverability and handling. In addition to the advantages linked to mass centralization and weight containment, the "anti-squat" behavior of the chassis is also refined, resulting in improved traction.
The 2024 KTM EXC-F models can be equipped with an optional map selector with which to establish the type of power required and manage the traction control. Furthermore, for the first time on this type of model, the Quickshifter is present. A solution that allows shifting to higher gears without the clutch, from second to sixth gear.
