The images of the film proposed by KTM, on YouTube, bring to mind the famous time trial on Pikes Peak. The new one is introduced KTM 890 SMT, a return already announced. A motorbike powered by an LC8c 890 engine and characterized by a bold and bold design.

Features

The suspension part is made up of adjustable WP APEX solutions, in front there is an upside down fork 43 mm with open cartridge e 180 mm of travel, same data as the mono-shock absorber. The braking system, then, is made up of front discs 320 mm combined with a pair of four-piston radial calipers at the front and a single disc at the rear 260 mm flanked by a two-piston caliper. It is possible to opt for a Supermoto ABS mode which excludes anti-lock on the rear wheel, while still guaranteeing safety.
The bike is equipped with wheels from 17 inches and Michelin PowerGP tires selected for their specifications.
The engine is a parallel twin 8 cm³ LC889c and power and torque reach respectively 105 horses e 100 Nm.

Design and Technology

The road capabilities of the new one KTM 890 SMT they were tested by former AMA Superbike and Supermoto rider Chris Fillmore, three-time winner at Pikes Peak.
Like the model introduced in 2010, this one also represents a synthesis between comfort and performance. The new 890 SMT is recognizable by its taut profile, also highlighted by a smoked windscreen, a double mudguard with splash guards and the new design of the 15,8 liter tank, which is indicative from an ergonomic point of view.
Among the KTM PowerParts accessories there are heated grips and it is possible to use software for regulating the engine torque in the release phase (MSR). Cruise Control and the QUICKSHIFTER+ system are optional and TRACK PACK and TECH PACK electronic packages are also offered to further accentuate their capabilities.
Il TFT instrument panel is 5 inches, made of mineral glass with anti-glare and scratch-resistant optical bonding. Connectivity is possible via the KTMconnect app, managing functions from the buttons on the control block on the left.
The electronic part also includes three riding modes, allowing you to choose between RAIN, STREET e SPORTSFurthermore, an optional mode is proposed TRACK which allows you to select three-level throttle response and 10-level traction control. A 6D inertial platform takes care of the ABS Cornering and Traction Control solutions.
