EICMA 2017 KTM 790 Adventure R Prototype – At EICMA 2017, the Austrian company showcased the new 790 Adventure R Prototype, for now only a concept.

Last year during the international cycle and motorcycle show, the KTM 790 Duke was presented as a prototype. Then it was officially launched this year. Same process also for the KTM 790 Adventure R, which will be officially presented next year and then enter the market in 2019. Let's see the details.

The prototype features the same twin-cylinder as the KTM 790 Duke, therefore a 799 cc parallel facing the gear, 4-stroke DOHC, 2 in-line cylinders, eight valves actuated by means of finger rockers coated in Dlc, electronic injection, with two countershafts, capable of delivering 105 HP at 9000 rpm and a torque of 86 Nm at 8.000 rpm.

The design is typical of a rally bike, with a single seat and LED lights. The light and robust frame is completed by WP suspensions, both front and rear. The dashboard recalls the world of the Dakar, where an "electronic logbook" stands out. The weight is approximately 174Kg, and with 100HP power, the weight-to-power ratio is incredible for the category.
