KTM 690 Duke 2012, here it is in a spy photo

A spy photo of the new one KTM 690 Duke 2012 was published recently on the Motorcyclenews website. The image portraying the new naked was taken with a mobile phone while the bike was stopped at a petrol station near the KTM factory in Mattighofen, Austria. A short film was also made together with the image.

The prototype features are unmistakable, such as the license plate painted in matt black so as not to be recognisable. At first glance, even the well-known English weekly agrees in defining the style of this naked as evocative of that of the KTM 125 Duke which was launched recently.

Among the innovations that are immediately noticeable are the new side exhaust, the lower seat, a completely new profile, just as the rims are also new. Obviously this is not yet the official guise of the bike as it is a prototype. But if the look remains more or less the same, we can already start debating whether the 690 KTM 2012 Duke is aesthetically preferable to the current 690 Duke.
