KTM 450 SMR 2024: a strong character on the track [VIDEO]

La KTM 450 SMR 2024 is the protagonist in the film proposed by KTM on Youtube. An example of the lively and high-performance Supermoto scene. The new model

Waiting in KTM dealerships starting from the last week of May, the bike features various interesting solutions including an airbox designed for performance, an air filter that can be replaced without tools and electric starting. The standard electronics are managed by the Keihin engine control unit with two selectable maps, as are other systems such as quickshifter, traction control and launch control. The package includes an LED injection warning light, an hour meter and a rollover sensor which, in the event of an accident, checks the position of the motorcycle and automatically turns off the engine for the benefit of safety.
The polyethylene tank can contain 7,2 liters of fuel, furthermore the motorbike is characterized by a high and flat saddle with high grip covering. The platforms themselves, with a larger support surface, are defined in a more integrated way.

The frame is developed in hydroformed steel tubes, laser cut and robot welded. It is a compact structure that favors the centralization of masses, also obtaining flexural and torsional rigidity to support dynamism. A reinforced aluminum frame weighing 1,815 kg is also mentioned, defined starting from computational dynamics studies.
Also highlighted are a Neken aluminum handlebar, billet triple clamps with elastomeric mounts to dampen vibrations, a hollow cast aluminum swingarm and WP XACT suspension solutions. At the front is a 48mm WP In the rear area, however, there is a compact WP XACT mono-shock absorber, calibrated in light of the geometry of the frame for a linkage with greater ground clearance. Without the use of tools it allows the configuration of the compression and extension action.
The braking system is Brembo, at the front a four-piston radial caliper combined with a 310 mm front disc, at the back a single-piston solution associated with a 220 mm disc in the rear area.
Alpina rims fitted as standard feature high-performance Metzeler Racetec SM K1 Supermoto tyres.

Thruster

The engine is 450 cc single overhead cam. Pointed to a 44mm Keihin throttle body and also a SUTER slipper clutch backing up the action. The weight of the propulsive heart is limited, not even 27 kg as reported. The power reaches i 63 horses.
