A new sports naked

From a visual point of view, this bike resembles the prototype shown at the event EICMA in 2019. The rear position lights are new LED , with the integration of indicators and adaptive brake light. A new result from the engineers of the Mattighofen Research and Development department assisted by colleagues from the Performance Lab, characterized by special components. Beneath the carbon layers is a high-end electronics package, with interesting functions such as mode Track and the new Performance favoring numerous options for customizing various parameters.
Carbon fiber was used in the development, used to accentuate the sportiness of the model and reduce its weight. Among the peculiarities is the rear subframe, similar to the one noted on the prototype presented two years ago. The rear area appears lighter and different than that of the 1290 Super Duke R and houses the solo seat. A complete range of KTM PowerParts has also been designed to enhance its performance side.

Technique and technology

The evolution of the suspension part includes top-of-the-range WP solutions: a closed cartridge fork WP APEX PRO 7548 adjustable and associated with a steering damper WP APEX PRO 7117 always adjustable, therefore behind a APEX PRO 7746 custom developed, according to the information.
The KTM 1290 Super Duke RR turns out 9 kg lighter than the already known naked. A fact also favored by the adoption of new wheels with a lighter weight of 1,5 kg. Forged rims associated with Michelin Power Cup2 tyres.
Also featured is a new Quick-Turn throttle control with an opening angle of 65%, a figure contained by 7 degrees compared to that present on the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R, mitigating the opening angle of the wrist and consequently the lowering of the rider's elbow when activating the control. There is also a lightweight Akrapovič “Slip-on Line” silencer developed in titanium and with a carbon fiber silencer end cap and as an option a complete Akrapovič “Evolution Line” system, which can only be used on the track.

Motor

The motorcycle is equipped with a thruster 8 cm³ LC1.301 twin-cylinder which offers a power of 180 horses e 140 Nm of torque, to be compared to a low weight a 180 kg, as mentioned. A weight-power value of 1:1. An aspect that anticipates its potential.

Proposal

Available in 500 specimens at the indicated price of 25.690 euros, the motorbike can be pre-ordered starting from 10:00 CET on April 8th, as reported.
