The new KTM 1290 Super Duke RR is an exclusive definition of the “Beast” developed in solo 500 specimens. In a video proposed by KTM on YouTube the various aspects are highlighted.

Roaring sportsmanship

Visually it resembles the prototype noticed at the EICMA review in 2019. Highlighted are new LED rear lights, integrating indicators and adaptive brake light. Under the carbon layers there is a high-level electronics package, with interesting functions such as Track mode and the new Performance for numerous options for customizing various parameters.
Carbon fiber was used to strengthen the sportiness of the model and keep the weight down. Among the peculiarities, a rear subframe stands out, similar to that seen on the prototype presented in 2019. The rear area appears lighter and different than that of the 1290 Super Duke R, hosting a single-seater saddle. A range of KTM PowerParts has also been designed to enhance the performance aspect.
The motorcycle is equipped with a thruster LC8 twin cylinder da 1.301 cc and the transmitted power reaches 180 horses e 140 Nm of torque, to be compared to a low weight a 180 kg, as reported. A weight-to-power ratio of 1:1.

Technique and technology

WP solutions such as a closed cartridge fork appear WP APEX PRO 7548 adjustable and associated with a steering damper WP APEX PRO 7117 always adjustable, therefore in the rear area a APEX PRO 7746 custom developed, as reported.
Among the aspects highlighted, a new Quick-Turn accelerator control with an opening angle of 65 degrees is also mentioned, a figure reduced by 7 degrees compared to that present on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, mitigating the opening angle of the wrist and consequently the lowering of the pilot's elbow when the control is activated. Also adopted is an Akrapovič “Slip-on Line” silencer developed in titanium and with a carbon fiber silencer end cap and as an option a complete Akrapovič “Evolution Line” system, which can be used on the track.
