KTM 1290 Super Duke GT – Given the rate of spy photos that are emerging on the web and featuring the new KTM 1290 Super Duke GT, we might think that the Austrian brand is clearly going on a "photographer hunt".

The imminent KTM 1290 Super Duke GT was immortalized again by the camera, after being intercepted during testing in Spain, and this photo shows us a new model strongly influenced, or so it would seem, by the naked tourer 1290 Super Duke, a 180 HP two-wheeler, with which it will also share the same engine, the 1301cc V-twin. After a photo circulated on the web yesterday, the new shot depicting the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT gives us a better view of the new Austrian model, which will most likely arrive by 2016.

As expected the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT it appears to share the main chassis with the 1290 Super Duke R, while the subframe has been strengthened to support any luggage and to create space for a larger passenger seat. The new shot shows well the height from the ground and the particular "snout" which swoops downwards, thus taking on a pointed shape. We can also see better of the taller bars that have been added to give the new one KTM 1290 Super Duke GT a more upright riding position for touring. Furthermore, many components seem to have always been shared with the Super Duke R, including wheels, brakes and forks.

The new KTM 1290 Super Duke GT will actually be the successor to the 990 SMT, a touring version of the discontinued 990 Supermoto.
