Allowing potential customers and enthusiasts to get to know the new one up close KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, an initiative at European level is announced “KTM DEALER UNBOXING” at over 400 dealers official from the 15 31 March 2021.

Respecting the current regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, to enter the “KTM DEALER UNBOXING” it is necessary to register in advance via the portal https://adventure-events.ktm.com/, booking the day and time of the visit, considering the availability of the dealers. These will be able to accommodate small groups. The initiative allows you to discover the various aspects of the new KTM 1290 Super Adventure S road enduro, as indicated.
This is the third generation of the Travel Enduro created by the Austrian brand. A motorbike designed for travellers, also advanced from a technological point of view considering for example the aforementioned system Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), in collaboration with Bosch, connected to a radar under the front headlight with automatic adjustment of the distance to the vehicles in front. The safety distance can be set to five levels, as reported.
Among the new features from WP is a Suspension PRO package, a package of additional settings (for a fee) which, in addition to the three Comfort, Street and Sport settings of the standard hydraulic damping, also includes an Advance mode, allowing fine customization of the fork's behavior and of the monoshock absorber, the Auto mode which automatically adjusts the suspension response based on the rider's driving style and the terrain, then the Offroad mode for driving off-road with an optimized setting. Among the options in the PRO package, there is also the possibility of managing the "anti-dive" function by recalling or deactivating it, of adjusting the mono preload on 10 levels or choosing between three pre-set options High, Standard and Low.

Technically, the steering head has been moved back by 15 millimetres, the engine has been repositioned and the open trellis swingarm has been lengthened, keeping stability and traction in mind. We point out a customizable position of the handlebars and levers. The windshield was refined in the wind tunnel, equipped with a manageable windshield, also evaluating the tank superstructures. The rear subframe is new with revised measurements considering the height of the saddle and the 23 liter tank with "key less" refueling cap and superstructures that underline the character of the example are also new. The saddle, developed in two parts, is adjustable in height by 20 mm.
Also highlighted is a seven-inch TFT display and a renovated glove compartment with a USB charging socket. You can interact through the redefined handlebar blocks, the Connectivity Unit is also new and allows the smartphone to be paired via Bluetooth, managing incoming phone calls, the music play list and navigation (for a fee) through the KTM MY app LAUGH.
The model is equipped with a 8 cc LC75 1.301° V-twin engine, Euro 5. Also noteworthy is an advanced gearbox created by Pankl, allowing optimized and quicker gear changes, especially using the optional Quickshifter+. The power reaches 160 horses with a peak torque of 138 Nm, compared to a lighter weight of 1,6 kg considering the previous example.
