KTM 1050 Adventure – There has been talk about this long-awaited new model from KTM for several weeks and now the official confirmation seems to have arrived. The new KTM 1050 Adventure will be unveiled at the Milan International Motorcycle Show, EICMA, 2014 edition, scheduled to start from 4 November in the Lombardy capital, and we are talking about a two-wheeled UIVA that will resemble, at least technically, the KTM 1190 Adventure. The only substantial differences, on an aesthetic level, will boil down to angles of the fairing and spoked wheels, which indicate that the KTM 1050 Adventure will not replace the GTS 990, but, on the contrary, will be a good off-road-oriented model.

According to our British colleagues at Motorcycle News the reduction in displacement could be achieved by cutting both the bore and stroke of the KTM 1190 Adventure. The power in the "free" version is estimated at 100 HP. Certainly a "new" model with only 150 cm3 less than the current Adventure may seem incongruous, but the price question will be decisive at this point. If it is well positioned in terms of price, the KTM 1050 Adventure could enter in direct competition with less "generous" bikes, like the BMW F 800 GS Adventure, the Triumph Tiger 800 XC or, even, the Suzuki DL 1000 V-Strom. Not to mention the Honda 1000 CRF Africa Twin, also expected in Milan in November.

It remains to be seen how Austrian strategists will manage to “cut” costs. Also Stefan pierer has already confirmed that the KTM 1050 Adventure will be presented at EICMA 2014, now almost on the starting blocks, and we can't wait for November 3rd to arrive to tell you more.
