The engine is a powerful and smooth 948cc inline four-cylinder like that of the Z1
Kawasaki Z900RS – Modernity and classicism come together in the Kawasaki Z900RS, a motorcycle created to bring back the true spirit of a legend of the 70s, recalling the unique and original Kawasaki Z1.
By mixing the stylistic elements inspired by the Z1 with the best modern craftsmanship, the Z900RS manages to have a timeless style with a refined attention to detail and finishing that creates a final result of the highest quality. Like the engine, with a simple and no-frills design, put there on full display in its elegance and essentiality. Same rule for the exhaust, the result of a careful selection from over 20 variants before arriving at the final choice, the one that most of all managed to emphasize the personality of the in-line four-cylinder.
But as we said at the beginning they are there are many references to retro style. The spoked aluminum rims, for example, or the sinuous teardrop-shaped tank, which recalls that of the historic Z1, as well as the rear design with the typical duckbill shape. The front headlight is round, but inside there is an ultra-bright LED, which diffuses a white light for optimal night visibility.
The multifunctional LCD screen is sandwiched between two analogue dials (speedometer and tachometer) thus combining retro looks with modern technology. The LCD screen is easy to read thanks to the negative display characterized by white letters on a black background. The distinctive shape of the dials adds a further touch to the retro sport style of the model and the instrument cluster embellishes the design of the instruments.
Going into details, the engine is a powerful and harmonious 948cc inline four-cylinder like that of the Z1. A configuration that offers the right ideal compromise between power and driving pleasure. The engine has been designed to offer excellent performance at low and medium speeds. Acceleration is firm but at the same time controlled, giving the rider a sense of ideal connection between accelerator and rear wheel. The Z900RS is equipped with the KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) system to manage power in the most diverse riding situations. Traction control can be deactivated.
The braking system is powerful. Two ø300 mm discs are mounted at the front with radial monobloc calipers with four opposing pistons. The front monobloc calipers have great initial bite and braking force is very easy to control.
The chassis has been lightened in weight and revised in chassis rigidity and geometry to give the vehicle even more maneuverability and respond perfectly to the rider's inputs, following the ideal trajectory without offering any resistance.
Last but not least, the sound of the engine which is the typical sound of Kawasaki's in-line four-cylinder engines, rich even at low revs with low notes that smack of tradition.
