Kawasaki Z650RS: an example of style with references to tradition at EICMA 2021 [LIVE PHOTOS]

Retro lines and technological solutions

The new Kawasaki Z650RS, an example characterized by classic lines with sporty hints, can be seen during the 2021 edition of EICMA, the International Two Wheel Exhibition.

The look recalls the past of the panoramic Z with a symbiosis between retro lines and more contemporary features, attracting the attention of colors that recall the iconic Z650-B1 launched in 1977, equally known as the “daughter of the Z1”, but also the new generations of enthusiasts.
A reference to the Z650-B1, looking for example at the paint and graphics that reproduce the historic green variant. Other references are the side panels and the “duck tail”
Highlighted is a round LED headlight and equally distinctive is the analogue-style "bullet"-shaped instrumentation with a digital central panel. The aesthetic and technical framework also includes golden-colored alloy spoke wheels and, through a range of original Kawasaki accessories, it is possible to further customize the example.
The colors are linked to the model Metallic Spark Black, Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Gray – Ebony, also noticing careful attention to detail by looking at the saddle and matching stitching.

Technical aspects

The example has a tubular trellis frame. The suspension part includes traditional forks from 41 millimeters in the front part, while in the rear area a Kawasaki horizontal link solution which operates on a preload-adjustable shock absorber. The braking system consists of front discs 300 mm in retro style flanked by double-piston front calipers, while at the back there is a 200 mm disc with a single-piston solution. There is also an advanced Bosch ABS.
The saddle is present at a height of 820 mm with an optional low seat a 800 mm, proposed as an accessory. A tapered central section is also highlighted, making it easier to place the feet on the asphalt and maneuver when stationary.

Thruster

The bike is equipped with an advanced Kawasaki parallel twin 649 cc, liquid cooled and related to the latest Z650 and Ninja 650 models. The power reaches i 68 horses (50,2 kW) and we also note the availability of a variant from 35 kW aimed at holders of an A2 driving licence. The model is equipped with an assisted and slipper clutch.
