Kawasaki Z 7 Hybrid: the new hybrid naked at EICMA 2023 [PHOTO]

It promises to combine the best of the combustion engine and that of the electric motor

Kawasaki chose theEICMA 2023 to reveal the Z 7 Hybrid, naked sister of the Ninja 7 Hybrid presented a few weeks ago. A new hybrid-powered motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer that is powered by a powertrain that combines an electric motor and a four-stroke combustion engine operating in series.

Kawasaki's innovative technology brings to these new bikes the combination of the reactivity of the electric motor at first acceleration and the efficiency and acceleration of the petrol engine. The thermal engine of the Kawasaki Z 7 Hybrid is confirmed 451 cc parallel twin developing 58 HP, supported byelectric unit that delivers 9 kW.

Up to 12 km of autonomy in electric mode

Like the Ninja, the Z 7 Hybrid also has three driving modes (EV, Eco-Hybrid and Sport) which exploit the components of the hybrid propulsion system in a different way. The new motorcycle from Kawasaki can move in electric mode, with 6-speed automatic transmission, for a maximum range of 12 kilometres.

By selecting the driving mode Eco-Hybrid you benefit from the best of the two fuel systems, optimizing thrust and consumption. In this driving setting you can choose between automatic and manual gearbox, with the latter operated via paddles located on the handlebars. Then there is the "sub mode" Walk which allows you to proceed at very low speed, making it useful on slopes.

The driving program Sport instead it allows you to exploit the maximum potential of both the petrol and electric engines, with the possibility of using theE Boost (for a maximum of 5 seconds) which allows the Z 7 Hybrid to enjoy a thrust comparable to that of a 1.000 cc, but with a range of over 25 kilometers on one liter of fuel.

Available with two liveries, grey/green and black, the Kawasaki Z 7 Hybrid will arrive on the market in spring 2024.
