Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) has been a reality for over 120 years, made up of companies operating in various sectors, ranging from the terrestrial sector, through the marine sector, up to the aeronautical and aerospace sector.
Following the announcement of a new company within the Kawasaki group focused on the development of motorcycles and motorized vehicles for dedicated use, Kawasaki Motors Ltd introduces the new brand identity which recalls tradition and projects its gaze towards tomorrow. The corporate identity symbol adopted is the River Mark.

The news

The adoption of the known River Mark as an emblem of Corporate Identity represents an identifying concept of the commitment of the various realities and creations aimed at multiple environments.
The River Mark, a stylization of the Japanese ideogram connected to the river, was first noted in the 1870s on the flags of ships owned by Kawasaki Tsukiji Shipyard, which preceded Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Founded by Shōzō Kawasaki in 1878, production was initially focused on the development of ships to respond to Japan's export and trade needs, towards a leading role in the international economy. In light of the innovation and quality offered, the company soon landed in the sector of civil engineering, rolling stock and the development of steam engines, then expanding its operations upwards with the development of a first airplane .
The River Mark has already been used at various moments along the interesting historical journey. This was only noticed on the most significant Kawasaki products based on the period. More recently the River Mark has returned for example on the fairings of the Kawasaki Ninja H2 and Ninja H2R equipped with supercharged engines, as mentioned.
