Electrification also for two wheels. Kawasaki presented the Ninja 7 Hybrid, the world's first mass-produced hybrid motorcycle. This model is powered by a 451 cc parallel twin engine and a 9 kW electric motor, with a total output of up to 69 HP. The first examples, as announced by Japanese house, will arrive in early 2024.
The quality characteristics
Before we get into the technical details, let's talk about the design of this bike. The Ninja 7 Hybrid stands out for its exclusive color, with the lower part of the hull matte lime green and the silver and black bodywork. The riding position leads the rider to lean towards the fairing, to interact with the handlebar controls.
As regards the instruments, the motorbike is equipped with the TFT color display, which includes smartphone connectivity through a dedicated version of the Rideology App, helping to improve the riding experience
The hybrid drive
The hybrid unit is made up of the aforementioned 451 cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled parallel twin engine, with a 9 kW electric motor and a 48V lithium-ion battery, combined with a manual or automatic clutchless gearbox. There combined power is 59 HP, but it can reach over 69 HP, with e-boost.
Three are available driving mode (Sport-Hybrid, Eco-Hybrid and EV), each offering a different approach to driving, adapting to a wide range of situations. Features include start-and-stop and Automatic Launch Position Finder (ALPF) which, when selected, automatically chooses first gear when the bike is stationary.
Dismissal
Complete technical data and prices will be provided in the coming months, before the debut in dealerships, scheduled forbeginning of next year.
