Italjet Buccaneer 250i – A few days ago, word circulated of a patent, with a Chinese passport, for an air-cooled 250 cc V-twin, with a simple but well-proportioned design, which made it look a lot like a miniature café racer, more Western than Eastern in style.

Many seeing this patent had thought that, if the production version managed to reach the levels it had set itself, the proposal could reasonably become attractive even in Europe. No sooner said than done. The patent was filed in the Old Continent, which suggests to us that it is the model of the Chinese company Longjia can at this point become a “global” level twin-cylinder.

What happened sooner than expected and that during a local motorcycle show at Guangzhou, in China, could be revealed live the Chinese twin-cylinder, which has the same design seen on the patents filed by Longjia, but now it is branded on the tank by the Italian Italjet. It is called Buccaneer 250i and shares its name with the Italjet Buccaneer 125 of the 70s, powered by Yamaha, with which it achieved three victories in the Italian Junior 125 series.

The new Italian-Chinese model thus carries forward a tradition that has consolidated in recent years, namely the partnership between a Western and an Eastern company. Where manpower comes from the East and, so to speak, the "face" of two wheels from the West.
