Indian Black Bullet Scout, a tribute to drag racing and speed records by Jeb Scolman [PHOTO]

It will be on display from July 31st to August 8th

Indian Black Bullet Scout – The Black Bullet Scout is the latest extraordinary collaboration between Indian Motorcycles and customizer Jeb Scolman, the same craftsman “responsible” for the Spirit of Munro, a bike built to celebrate the launch of the ThunderStroke111 engine in 2014.

Jeb Scolman delivered the Scout's new 1200cc engine with instructions to build what he wanted. The result is a tribute to drag racing and the speed records set in the '50s and '60s with a frame made of slender round tubes, pulled to the bone, and a very aerodynamic fairing. Engine aside, almost everything on the bike is unique, from the tubular steel frame to the low profile alloy seat. The tank and tail are also streamlined and sharp in the same way. The handlebar is a narrow clip-on mounted above the steering base and the rear footpegs are on the axis of the rear wheel, without suspension.

The Indian Black Bullet Scout will be on display at Sturgis between July 31 and August 8. This particular model was built to race and continue the tradition of the Indian Scout on the Bonneville Salt Flats, where many years ago the dream of Burt Munro took place who, after having raised the funds thanks to friends and enthusiasts and after various attempts, mechanical failures and serious falls, he managed to set three records approved by the AMA (American Motorcyclist Association). In 1967, with the engine increased to 950 cm³ it achieved the class record (displacement less than 1000 cm³) at a speed of 295,5 km/h, and during qualifying it was clocked at 305,9 km/h, the highest official speed highest ever recorded with an Indian.
