Sharing services (a service that allows you to use a vehicle by reservation, picking it up and bringing it back to a car park) have been becoming increasingly popular for some years in European metropolises, replacing public or private transport. This real "explosion" also led to the birth of eCooltra Scootersharing, landed in Rome less than 2 months ago.

Today the electric scooter rental service celebrates the milestone of 100 thousand users in Europe, boasting the enviable record of 600 new users daily.

The success of the Spanish company, in addition to making the lives of its users easier by ensuring scooter availability even on public transport strike days, also has a significant impact on the environment. Suffice it to say that, compared to a normal petrol scooter which produces 4 kg of CO0.5 for 2 km, the emissions of the electric version are zero. If we add to this eCooltra's desire to expand the service, the impact on the environment can be considerable. To date, 240 vehicles are available in Rome, but the goal is to increase the service as early as 2018.

These words Maurizio Pompili, Country Manager Italy of eCooltra: “Once again we feel very satisfied with the response that our service is having in terms of users and kilometers travelled: last Friday 19 June during the transport strike, our scooters were never stopped, confirming the fact that the inhabitants of Rome have understood that there is a new, comfortable and modern way of moving around the city. Particularly in Rome, we are concentrating our efforts and see market opportunities in a context in which others have decided to give up".
