The new tyres Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP were selected by MV Agusta as original equipment for the basic, R and RR versions of the 4 F2013 range. The Varese racing car will use the new racing street tires of the long P brand in sizes 120/70 ZR17 for the front and 200/55 ZR17 for the rear.

This choice once again confirms the strong partnership between Pirelli and the historic and renowned motorcycle brand, two Made in Italy realities appreciated throughout the world.

Diablo Super Corsa SP (Sport Production) is the race replica version of the tyre in SC compound (Special Compound), which in 2013 will be used by the riders of the Supersport World Championship, the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup and the Superstock 600 UEM European Championship.

Diablo Supercorsa SP is a concentrate of technology that makes the most of the experience and racing heritage acquired by Pirelli as the sole supplier of the Superbike World Championship since 2004. This tire for road use is able to offer racing performances typical of products for exclusive use on the track, thus allowing the user to have a single ultra-performance product that can be used on the road or track without the need to make compromises. As proof of these excellent qualities, the new Diablo Supercorsa has already been chosen as original equipment by the most prestigious motorcycle manufacturers for their flagship supersport models.

Diablo Supercorsa SP presents new profiles both front and rear. The rear in particular, compared to the 190/55 version, is approximately 4 mm higher on the central diameter and has a width of approximately 2 mm more at the chord level so as to guarantee greater support during braking and make driving easier. more intuitive and precise in maintaining the trajectory. In fact, the 200/55 size has been totally redesigned and developed to increase the contact area, grip and speed of descent into the lean. The harmony of the front and rear profiles therefore guarantees greater handling and agility together with extraordinary levels of grip and general contact feeling in every phase of use.

The rear measurement 200/55 of Diablo Super Corsa SP use a solution bi-compound, to offer both an increase in mileage and greater grip when leaning. EPT (Enhanced Patch Technology) has made it possible to use a 23% more soft compound in the shoulder area (compared to the previous version of the Diablo Supercorsa SP) which now represents 33% of the tread extension on each side, thus guaranteeing a higher level of grip starting from mid-lean. Finally, the new generation polymers used in the composition of the new SP compound provide rapid warm up and constant grip in all temperature conditions, types of asphalt and repeated uses.

The performance of the compounds is further strengthened by the new and aggressive one single element tread design, which is repeated six times on the tire surface. The result is that the “bare” area of ​​the slick shoulders is 24% wider compared to the previous Diablo Supercorsa, thus increasing the real contact area and consequently the grip on support. The long longitudinal grooves, which from the central area of ​​the profile reach the shoulder of the tyre, ensure regular wear even in the most severe use and help drain the water deposited on the asphalt.

The solutions adopted for the compound (23% larger soft compound area) and for the tread (greater extension of the slick area on the shoulders) guarantee a massive increase in grip and traction, allowing the motorcycle to maintain a high speed greater at each bend angle. This was made possible also thanks to the use of a new structure, derived directly from those used in competitions and capable of offering greater resistance to deformation. The rear tire of Diablo Super Corsa SP in fact it is equipped with one carcass made with an innovative high modulus fibre, patented by Pirelli and developed in the WSBK, which has a deformation index considerably lower than that of the fiber normally used in tires for road use. The result is one carcass, which we could define as new generation, stiffer, both in the center and in the shoulder area, which offers greater resistance to the stresses created by aggressive corner entry or the occurrence of violent accelerations when the bend is not yet completed, permitted by the extraordinary level of grip offered by the entire complex. The new casing allows the motorbike to guarantee exceptionally high levels of behavior in load transfers both during acceleration and braking, a characteristic which is even more evident the more pronounced and severe the use on corners.

In addition to the technological features described above Diablo Super Corsa SP does not give up the ultra-modern and timeless customizable look that has characterized the latest products in the Diablo range launched by Pirelli, allowing the Customization of the tire through special labels that anyone can create freely on the Pirelli website and receive directly at home and apply in dedicated areas on the sidewalls of the front and rear tires specifically designed to accommodate them.
