Nuda 900 and Nuda 900R – A taste of what's to come


Designed as a crossover model between a supermoto and a pure street bike, the Nuda cannot fit into a specific category. It offers a sporty and dynamic ride, perfectly balancing agility and performance in a motorcycle with a bold, modern and dynamic look. A supermoto? A pure street bike? Naked it will be everything you want it to be, but above all it is a Husqvarna.

Design


Inside the factory located north-west of Milan, the Husqvarna design team draws inspiration from the passion and skills that characterize this area of ​​Italy. Within "Centrostile", a select group of young and talented designers work tirelessly to create the exclusive look of each Husqvarna, whether it is street or off-road models.
Despite its minimalist design, each panel of the Nuda helps define its athletic body, lending a dynamic tension that extends the entire length of the bike and ends in the tapered tail, emulating the aerodynamics of a sportbike. The visible trellis frame, the great care taken in the exhaust pipe, the red cylinder head already announce the performance that the bike contains in its body while the exclusive headlight, intently turns its angry expression on the road. Sporty but elegant, harmonious but resolute, Nuda embodies the most refined expression of bold Italian styling.
The Nuda 900R proudly displays Husqvarna's signature colors of red and white, made famous by its racing success, while the Nuda 900 sports a more elegant black livery.

Motor


Husqvarna knows that the heart and soul of a motorcycle lies in its engine. For this reason the choice of engine was the crucial part of the Nuda project. The decision to use the reliable and technologically advanced BMW F 900 R engine as the basis for the Nuda 900 and Nuda 800R was made in consultation with the BMW engine development team in Munich – an engine which was subsequently adapted to meet Husqvarna's specific needs and requirements.

Designed to reflect Husqvarna's racing pedigree, this new configuration not only offers a maximum performance driving feel, but significantly improves the engine's power and torque characteristics. Husqvarna has brought the power to a level above 100 horsepower and the torque above 100Nm, managing to maintain fluid and linear delivery even with slight throttle openings and at low rpm.
Finally, to add the Husqvarna seal to the engine, the head was painted red – a feature common to all Husqvarna motorcycles.

Chassis

Thanks to the vast experience gained over many years of racing activity, Husqvarna knows which components to enhance to obtain unparalleled performance and how to get the maximum benefit from the overall chassis part. To increase the prestige and performance of the Nuda 900R, Husqvarna has provided a chassis equipped with high-performance components. The 48 mm Sachs forks are fully adjustable while the rear shock absorber with adjustable compression, release and spring preload is entrusted to specialist Öhlins. The suspension setting of the Nuda 900R is designed to raise the bike's center of gravity compared to the Nuda 900, increasing ground clearance and improving handling to ensure an electrifying and responsive ride.
To create a motorcycle suitable for the urban or touring environment, the Nuda 900 is equipped with 48 mm Sachs forks and a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock. The setting is set to guarantee a smooth ride and make the motorbike more comfortable and easier to use, while the double-level saddle offers maximum seating comfort also for the passenger.
Husqvarna has made ergonomics and handling a priority in both Nuda models; consequently the fuel tank is located under the saddle to obtain a weight distribution as close as possible to the center of gravity. This solution has made it possible to create a motorcycle that is stable at high speed and agile at low speed, which offers safe and comfortable riding in any condition.
This feature, together with the natural riding position characterized by maximum control of the motorbike, will certainly be appreciated and exploited by both beginners and expert bikers.
Both models are equipped with radial brake calipers. To further improve its sporting appeal, the Nuda 900R is fitted with Brembo Racing monobloc brakes with 320 mm discs. Crafted from a single piece of aluminum to ensure maximum feel and power with minimal flex, these pairs of four-piston radial calipers give the Nuda 900R superior stopping power on both the road and track. The Nuda 900 is also equipped with Brembo four-piston radial calipers and 320 mm discs with sintered pads, which guarantee powerful, accurate and homogeneous braking sensitivity in any condition. At the rear, both models use the same 240 mm disc and a dual-piston caliper brake.
Weight is fundamental to the agility of a motorcycle and Husqvarna has managed to keep the mass of the Nuda 900R below 175kg. Both Nuda models are equipped with a stainless steel exhaust muffler, but, for the Nuda 900R, the fixing clamp, end cap and heat shield are made of carbon fiber.
