Refined aesthetic features and technological solutions characterize the electric scooter Horwin EK3, designed to be functional in urban settings.

Aesthetics and comfort

A means L3e – A1 (corresponding to a 125 cc example) with a spacious footboard and a wider and longer saddle, just as the distance between the height of the saddle and the footboard is also generous, thus avoiding a too bent position of the legs, according to the indications. The saddle is placed at a height of 780 millimeters. The rounded style is enlivened by the shades White, black, Grey e red and also by the light signature of the light clusters. It features an automatic daytime running light DRL (Daytime Running Light) featuring a source LED white and an automatic switch-off delay function. The headlights are also LED with three lamps that transmit an intense beam.
The scooter is also equipped with front and rear dual hydraulic shock absorbers, lightweight aluminum alloy rims and tubeless tires.

Technology

The key combined with the scooter includes an integrated remote control, allowing you to start, stop and immobilize the vehicle without inserting the key into the ignition. The anti-theft system can also be activated with this. As reported, to set off on horseback EK-3 you simply need to carry the key with you and when you are nearby the vehicle is automatically unlocked, just as it locks again when you move away. There is also a musical soundtrack associated with startup and shutdown.
The various information including speed and cruise control can be consulted on the backlit display and, by sliding your finger on the touch-start strip at the bottom of this, you can start the engine. While driving, you can recharge your smartphone via the USB socket located in the glove compartment.
Another interesting aspect is the combined system CBS (Combined Braking System), designed to make braking safer and more stable even on wet asphalt, preventing the wheels from locking. A solution that distributes the braking force between the front and rear brake discs.

Electric boost

The scooter includes a control system FIRE (Field Oriented Control), a sort of brain that allows quick and efficient starts, as well as balancing power and energy consumption. Energy recovery also occurs during some braking phases and limits the output power during some acceleration phases.
Developed by Horwin, the powertrain generates up to 6,2 Kw of power with a pair of 195 Nm available quickly by acting on the accelerator, allowing the scooter to reach a speed of 95 km/h and sprinting to 60 km/h in six seconds, according to the information.
The vehicle can be equipped with two rechargeable and removable batteries, 18650 lithium ion cells from Samsung. Each cell has a capacity of 1,44 Wh, while the entire battery pack is 2,88 Wh. The duration is 1.000 charging cycles and the standard charging current is 10 A. The charging time of an indicated battery pack amounts to approximately 4 hours.
The control is linked to a SOC monitoring system and a modern battery management system, protecting against possible overloads or short circuits with battery temperature control, as reported.

Proposal

Distributed exclusively for the Italian market by Wind, the specimen Horwin EK3 it is sold at a retail price of 4.490 euros ex works. Considering a state contribution, EK3 has a final cost of 3.385,90 euros ex works with 30% contribution and 3.037,87 euros ex works with 40% contribution, according to the indications.
