Horex VR6 – After a rather surprising announcement in which the German brand declared it was filing for bankruptcy in September last year, Horex has once again risen from the ashes by introducing its new narrow-angle six-cylinder engine two-wheeler. It must be said that both the new Horex VR6 and its exclusive Silver Edition, seen in the flesh, have a truly breathtaking look.

Founded in 1920 by German glassware manufacturer Rex, the company initially began designing motorcycles in collaboration with Columbus. However, when the company became a famous brand, the Second World War abruptly interrupted its production. In 1960, Daimler-Benz purchased it and completed production. Fifty years later the brand would revive again, with the new narrow-engined Horex, a supercharged six-cylinder, which went on sale in 2011 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Inspired by a Volkswagen powertrain, the VR6 Supercharged engine should also power the new model, while the chassis is an aluminum twin-spar with a steel steering head. Despite all efforts, Horex once again had to end its production, until it was taken over by 3C-Carbon Group AG earlier this year. Under new ownership, the engine has been optimized and refined, resulting in significantly improved performance and an excellent driving experience.

As for specifications, Horex says the water-cooled, four-stroke six-cylinder VR engine has a displacement of 1218 cc capable of developing 167 hp and 138 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The new Horex VR6 is equipped with a high-performance stainless steel exhaust system. To celebrate the relaunch of the brand, Horex also presented a special series, limited to 33 models with specific components and special materials. The sales phase for the new Horex VR6 Silver Edition is already over due to high demand, which is why the brand has decided to choose future owners through a random selection.
