Honda: the brand's news at EICMA 2021 between sportiness and versatility [INTERVIEW]

On the occasion of the 78th edition of EICMA, the International Two Wheel Exhibition, several examples are shown Honda. Costantino Paolacci, Head of the Press Office of Honda Moto Italia, talks to us about the important news.

The main news

Above all, there are two main innovations highlighted at the event, examples of different segments which further expand the Japanese manufacturer's proposal. The first model is a new scooter ADV350, an entry-level model in the range in which the X-ADV crossover appears at the top.

An example with the typical practicality of a scooter, considering in particular a compartment under the saddle that can accommodate two full-face helmets, a height-adjustable windshield, an LCD digital instrument panel with which it is possible to interact via connection. The scooter, equipped with a variator, is characterized by a type of chassis not so distant from that of motorbikes, consisting of an upside-down double plate fork and separate gas shock absorbers, as underlined by the Head of the Press Office of Honda Moto Italia. This model joins the already well-known Forza 350.

The other interesting innovation is the new gritty one Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP 30th Anniversary. On this occasion, we remember the first CBR 900RR from 1992, before moving on to the new celebratory motorbike in view of 2022. The 1992 motorbike represents a progenitor of modern Superbikes, characterized by a functional weight/power ratio and marked agility. Moving on to the current Fireblade, there are several updates regarding intake, exhaust and final transmission, aimed at improving performance. The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP variant also remain in the range.
Finally, there is an area where you can observe a concept design that envisages the future forms of one Hornet of new generation.
