Throughout Europe, those who buy a 50 cc scooter have needs that are very difficult to satisfy with a single model. Customers are looking for an affordable purchase price, sophisticated design, low running costs and brilliant performance, but also excellent reliability, long life and very high build quality.

The majority of 'under 18' people buy scooters listening more to their heart than to reason, giving priority to style over cost. More experienced buyers, on the other hand, often give greater weight to rational factors rather than emotional ones. The answer to all these conflicting needs did not exist until today, because the 50 cc scooters currently on the market may have one, two or three of these characteristics, but not all.

It is precisely on this point that the new Honda NSC50R turns out to be a winner.

From Honda's unsurpassed technological level, which gives life to products of unparalleled quality and cutting-edge design, the NSC50R was born: sporty, fun, resistant to any wear and tear, efficient in consumption and with a snappy look, it is the perfect 50 cc scooter to have fun with friends, go to school, university or work, with which you can move freely even in the most difficult traffic and in any season.

2. Model overview

The new NSC50R has an eye-catching line, a perfect mix of curved surfaces and accents that make its look unique from any angle. It is powered by an ultra-modern 4cc air-cooled single-cylinder 49-stroke engine that pulsates to the rhythm of the city, offering versatility, fun performance and efficient fuel consumption that guarantee unparalleled environmental performance. With just one liter of petrol it can travel 50 km in city use and thanks to the 5,5 liter tank it offers all the autonomy necessary to live your passions in total freedom. This is also thanks to the grandiose under-seat compartment, capable of hosting a full-face helmet or many other objects.

The resistant steel frame with back beam ensures absolute maneuverability, while the 14" tires mounted on five-spoke aluminum rims ensure all the stability necessary to tackle even the most tortuous routes.

Active safety also comes first, thanks to the powerful braking system with Honda's CBS combined system, which connects the rear brake to the front one, generating a reassuring deceleration at any speed and on any type of surface.

Fun, highly appealing and safe, the new NSC50R is the best choice for those who want everything from a 50cc scooter.

3. Main features

3.1 Frame

The new NSC50R has an unmistakable look. The line, from the double front headlight with position light on the handlebar, to the LED rear light cluster, flows harmoniously and sportily.

Even the details demonstrate its captivating style. Red stitching on the seat echoes the red rear monoshock spring, while the large exhaust muffler guard with stainless steel accent adds a touch of class. The retractable aluminum supports and footrests for the passenger are also beautiful, just like on the aggressive CBRs of the Honda supersport range.

The tubular steel frame with dorsal beam ensures the rigidity necessary for precise and safe driving, as well as the durability that makes every Honda an investment in quality. The hydraulic telescopic fork absorbs every bump, while the lightweight 14" die-cast aluminum rims, with 80/90-14 tires at the front and 90/90-14 at the rear, guarantee gymkhana-proof agility.

The sporty front fairing offers excellent protection from wind and weather, while the two compartments in the rear shield ensure sufficient space for many other everyday objects. And to confirm the very high level of practicality, the large underseat compartment can even accommodate a full-face helmet.

The new NSC50R has been designed to also offer great ease of driving to any type of user. An agile geometry of the chassis, with steering head inclination of 26,5° and trail of 83 mm, combined with the reduced weight in running order (with a full tank of petrol) of 105 kg, make it easy to "filter" even in more intense traffic, while the saddle placed at just 760 mm high allows you to easily place your feet on the ground. The compact wheelbase of just 1.256 mm is a guarantee of superior agility, and the wide, comfortable saddle allows you to tackle continuous daily journeys in maximum comfort, even with a passenger on board.

The large 220mm front disc brake and powerful three-piston caliper are connected to the 130mm rear drum brake via the Honda CBS Combined Braking System. The mechanism is simple but super effective and safe: by acting on the rear brake lever the central piston of the front caliper also comes into operation, thus stabilizing braking at any speed. The front brake lever is independent, giving a sporty driving feeling and a further very high safety margin, especially in emergency situations with sudden braking.

3.2 Motor

The new NSC50R has a compact 4-stroke single-cylinder engine, with two-valve distribution, air cooling, and Honda PGM-FI electronic injection. The displacement is 49cc (bore and stroke 37,8 x 44 mm) and the compression ratio is 10,1:1.

Air cooling was chosen to eliminate the weight, complexity and cost of liquid cooling, which is not necessary on a brilliant engine of this displacement. Considerable attention to the reduction of internal friction and combustion efficiency also guarantee fun performance and very low consumption, just what you need to move in total freedom on all types of routes but especially in the city.

Maximum power is 2,59 kW (3,5 HP) at 8.250 rpm, and with 3,5 Nm of maximum torque available at 7.000 rpm, acceleration and recovery are always safe. And for a fun yet comfortable ride, the automatic centrifugal clutch activates the final drive via the silent and durable Honda V-Matic belt.

Ensuring leading environmental efficiency in the 50cc segment, thanks to very low consumption, was a key objective in the design of the new 50cc Honda sports scooter. The objective has been fully achieved: the new NSC50R travels at a constant 65 km/l at 30 km/h and 49,8 km/l on the average ECE R47 cycle, which corresponds to a range of 273 km on a full tank of fuel. 5,5 litres.

Polluting emissions are very low, well below the limits imposed by current legislation which currently, in Italy, requires only Euro50 approval for 2cc vehicles.

3.3 Colors

The new NSC50R will be available in 2 colors:

  • Pearl White
  • Repsol Honda Team MotoGP replica

4. Accessories

The new NSC50R can be customized with the following original Honda accessories:

  • Side stand (preparation with wiring is standard)
  • Leg cover
  • Outdoor scooter cover
  • Bodywork protective film

Original Honda accessories are designed in conjunction with the target model and for this reason must pass the rigorous and severe testing procedures established by the Manufacturer.
