HONDA DOWNHILLHER FEMALE RACING team: the first female Mountainbike Downhill team

THEHONDA DOWNHILLHER FEMALE RACING team came to life from an idea by Fulvio Maiani, a well-known internationally renowned advertising photographer and filmmaker, as well as a fan of extreme sports and in particular of the MTB downhill and enduro disciplines, shared with Alberto Mainetti, President of BMT Valsassina, one of the most important teams on the national scene of the "gravity" world. Given the repeated successes achieved by BMT athletes over the last few years and thanks to the close collaboration between BMT Valsassina and the Downhillher brand, an entirely female team has taken shape for the first time in the world.

The news

The mission of the HONDA DOWNHILLHER FEMALE RACING team is not only to achieve success, but also to define a community of girls passionate about speed and adrenaline. The IG social channel alone @downhillher already has almost twenty-five thousand followers. The training will be managed by twenty-three-year-old BEATRICE GREPPI, from Calolziocorte (LC), coordinator of the Scott BMT Motobase MDBRS Team for two years, now Team manager for HONDA DOWNHILLHER FEMALE RACING, defining an entirely female team.

With the new Scott Gambler 2023, equipped with Ohlins suspension by Andreani, the HONDA DOWNHILLHER FEMALE RACING will compete in several Downhill events:

– 5 Italian Cup matches;

– some trials of the UCI WorldCup.

With the Scott Patron 2023, the athletes will also appear in the Italian E-Enduro Championship and in the national specialty circuit and will wear clothing made entirely in Italy by the MadBros brand, which has developed a collection of dedicated clothing and accessories to facilitate performance , without forgetting aesthetics. 


There are four HONDA DOWNHILLHER FEMALE RACING athletes:

TIZIANA FINOCCHIO: 41 years old from Cittadella (PD), competes in the Master Woman category and is the reigning European Champion as well as bronze medalist at the Pra Loup world championships in 2021. As an objective for the 2023 season she wants to reconfirm the European title and win the world title in Argentina.

ROSARIA FUCCIO: 27 years old from Castellamonte (TO), for the second consecutive season she confirms herself as a gold medal in the Italian Downhill Cup in the Elite Woman category. Among the objectives for the 2023 season are the reconfirmation of the result obtained in the Italian Cup and the achievement of the podium in the European Cup.

MARTINA FUMAGALLI: 29 years old from Introbio (LC), she is the current Italian Champion of the Elite Woman Sport category, a title won for the second consecutive year, as well as the current holder of the Italian Cup title for the second time in a row. Objective for the 2023 season: reconfirm the Italian titles and obtain some placements in the European Cup.

LISA GAVA: 22 years old, from Cordignano (TV), is the current holder of the 2022 European Cup and bronze medal at the 2022 Italian championship. The reconfirmation of the title in the European Cup and the attempt to win the title of Italian Champion of the Elite category are the main objectives of the season without forgetting some good placings in the World Cup.
