Collaboration between Honda R&D Europe e W, in the field of motorcycle modeling, proposes a new perspective linked to design development processes through the use of collaborative 3D printing.

Information

W in 2017 had experimented with industrial clay processing processes, giving rise to an innovative approach in the modeling sector, then an exchange of experiences with Honda R&D has allowed an improvement in the extrusion of functional industrial clay in terms of benefits and reducing the time necessary for materialization from the 3D model, in the study of new solutions.

WASP, considering a technology LDM (Liquid Deposition Modeling) in the printing of ceramic materials and recyclable natural materials, collected locally with zero emissions and adaptable in different contexts, the technology for depositing heated fluid-dense materials is still evolving, as reported.

Honda R&D Europe e WASP D&D (Discover & Development) have cooperated to advance and speed up the process of industrial development. A new path that allows unprecedented freedom, as reported. Prototype components can be manually refined and redefined if they do not correspond to the expected characteristics. The industrial clay used in the process can be used and printed infinite times again, according to a sustainable and economic logic.
