Honda CTX1300, a maxi-cruiser style tourer

Halfway between "CTX700" and the imposing Goldwing F6B

CTX, that is a new family of two wheels created by Honda with the desire to make available to users, motorcycles with refined design, but hospitable and usable in everyday life. Already present for some time in the price list are the CTX 700 powered by the fleet and balanced parallel twin-cylinder coupled to the dual-clutch DCT gearbox. The new one, however, is freshly designed and has just left the EICMA 2013 stage Honda CTX1300. Three letters that say everything about this new bike.

“C” stands for Comfort. Many motorcyclists love the popular combination of “custom cruising style” and the practicality that a custom touring motorcycle can offer: a seat positioned at a height capable of satisfying all sizes, a relaxed driving position and with the right musical background (thanks to the two stereo speakers positioned in the fairing); It's a bit like looking at a “reduced” Goldwing F6B.

“T” stands for Technology. We were saying that the style is modern and refined, with little room for "skin" sensations as they can certainly be... visceral pulsations, plenty of room for mechanical efficiency. It therefore goes without saying that there will be no traditional and American-style air-cooled V-Twin in the frame, but a much more powerful and versatile 4 cc V1.261 (already seen on ST1300) liquid cooled by 84,3 substantial horsepower e 106 Nm of torque at just 4.500 rpm for smooth driving, letting yourself be carried away by the character and sound of the V4. The frame is classic, a double open steel cradle, double rear shock absorber and upside down fork in front to constrain an 18" rim with a 130/70 tire (200/50 at the rear). Advanced electronics: Traction Control System, combined ABS, LED lights and Bluetooth stereo system.

“X” stands for eXperience. And it is precisely here that the genius of Honda technicians wants to manifest itself, trying to make a all-rounder motorcycle, with a somewhat cruiser, partly hi-tech bagger style that is pleasant and rewarding to use on the road and also in the city, despite its weight and certainly not compact dimensions. The work of Honda's engine engineers has made it possible to contain consumption - 17,2 km/l declared in the average WMTC cycle - from a Touring perspective: 19,5 liters of petrol (placed in a tank under the saddle) for an autonomy well over 300 km.

To customize your CTX1300, Honda offers a series of aesthetic options (listed below), and also aimed at touring; logically, being a bike that wants to be a bit of a bagger at heart, the side cases are strictly standard.

  • Chromed brake/clutch fluid reservoir caps
