Honda CRF450R and CRF450RX arrive in Italy

Honda CRF450R and CRF450RX – Double news from the Japanese at Honda for lovers of driving in mud. Honda Italia has launched the 2017 edition of the CRF450R intended for motocross and the Honda CRF450R and CRF450RX race-ready enduro bike on the Italian market.

The Honda CRF450R is the result of a completely new project and marks the arrival of the seventh generation of the Japanese model, the Honda CRF450RX is its evolution which includes specific equipment and tuning for professional enduro. The 450 CRF2017R boasts a new aluminum frame with redesigned chassis geometries and a lower center of gravity than the previous model. It features a 49mm Showa upside-down fork with steel springs. The petrol tank is now made of titanium while the plastics of the superstructures are smooth and aerodynamic. It is offered with the racing kit which includes the electric starting system. Also changed in look, developed on the basis of the direct experience of Honda teams in the AMA and MXGP championships, compared to the 2002 bike that replaces the new CRF450R it has a 4 cc 449-stroke engine that is 11% more powerful, capable to deliver greater torque over the entire range of rpm.

Its RX variant is, in fact, a race-ready enduro. Compared to the R 2017 from which it derives, it features suspensions with different calibration, 18" instead of 19" rear wheel, specific injection mapping selectable from the centaur (Engine Mode Select Button), as well as a fuel tank of 8,5 liters with a capacity increased (+ 2,2 litres). The electric starter and side stand are also part of the standard equipment. As Masahiro Uchiyama, Large Project Leader of the CRF450R my 2017, underlines, the new two-wheeler is the result of "a complete redesign. We focused on creating a motorcycle with superior engine performance, exceptional rear wheel traction and grip and a low center of gravity, resulting in an acceleration improvement over the previous model of 5%. The CRF450RX is a race-ready enduro bike unlike anything Honda has ever made before. It offers something completely new to experienced pilots around the world.
