Honda CRF450R 2016, the concept of balance evolves [PHOTO]

The engine is the same as the 2015 model year

450 Honda CRF2016R – Subject of continuous evolution, model after model, the result of constant commitment to world competitions, in 2013 the Honda CRF450R has received an all-new frame featuring maximum mass centralization, modeled around the KYB inverted air fork, an important evolutionary step designed to help riders turn with minimal effort, both on the ground and in the air during jumps. There 450 CRF2014R it was characterized by a series of suspension changes, with a significant increase in engine performance at high rpm, thanks to the adoption of parts developed by Team HRC. The changes made on the 450 CRF2015R they offered sensations very similar to the Factory version used in the MX1 world championship and, in Europe, demand largely exceeded supply. For the450 Honda CRF2016R updates are focused on the suspension and changes to the steering geometry, always developed and created thanks to the experience gained in the field by Team HRC.

On the new one 450 Honda CRF2016R the new KYB Pneumatic Spring Fork (PSF2) with 48 mm stems has been revisited for improve control, stability and balance between the front and rear suspension, in particular the stroke remains unchanged, but the fork is now longer with greater rigidity of the blades. Both compression and rebound damping levels are more consistent to maintain control of the peak compression point, while the adjustment range has been expanded. The rear shock also has more rebound damping in the upper-middle phase of its stroke and a new Pro-Link ratio has been introduced. The new suspension setup has resulted in small changes to the steering geometry which have been introduced overall improve control, sensitivity and ease of use from the pilot's point of view. Other updates include a new footpeg mount design and a lighter drive chain. The 260mm petal brake disc improves heat dissipation and offers greater braking power as well as great reactivity, also thanks to the double-piston caliper that acts on it, while on the rear a 240mm petal disc is mounted with single piston caliper. Lightweight aluminum rims, with direct spoke mount hubs, reduce unsprung weight, with a 21" x 1,6" front and 19" x 2,5" rear, both with tires Dunlop MX52F/MX52.

With the innovations introduced in 2015 the CRF450R received improved power delivery and excellent rear wheel traction from low revs, with maximum power increased thanks to the adoption of a new head, a new exhaust system and optimal tuning of the PGM-FI Dual Fuel injection system, all with HRC specifications. Furthermore, the introduction of Honda's map selection button (EMSB) located on the right side of the handlebars has allowed riders to choose between 3 different driving modes. Mode 1 for a standard combination of ignition and fuel injection maps, Mode 2 for smooth, linear acceleration control and Mode 3 aggressive, responsive and dedicated to the constant expression of maximum power. Given the excellent feedback from the public both in terms of effectiveness and absolute performance, on Honda CRF450R 2016 engine remained unchanged.
