Honda CL500 Scrambler 2023: the new retro bike debuts at EICMA 2022 [PHOTO]

Honda presented to EICMA 2022 the new one in Milan Honda CL500 Scrambler 2023. It boasts a minimal and identical look to that of the CMX 500 Rebel, but borrows its name from the retro range.

La new CL 500 Scrambler is added to family 500 from the Japanese brand, bringing with it a newly developed tubular steel trellis frame. There are several styling cues borrowed from the CL series from the 60s and 70s, but we find a new lowered subframe and a taller muffler.

It offers a 46 HP twin-cylinder engine

La CL 500 Scrambler 2023 comes with a 471cc twin cylinder engine Euro 5, capable of developing 46 HP of power at 8500 rpm and 43,4 Nm of maximum torque at 6250 rpm.

The powerplant boasts an updated fuel injection system and a new intake system, along with a new shorter transmission. We then find a 6-speed gearbox, rear-wheel drive and a new 41-tooth sprocket for better acceleration.

Honda has also implemented an assist and slipper clutch for greater control. Suspension is handled by 41mm telescopic forks with 150mm travel and dual adjustable shocks at the rear with 108mm travel.

The braking system, however, consists of a 310 mm front disc with a double-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear one with a single piston. ABS is also standard. The 500 Honda CL 2023 Scrambler offers a trail of 108 mm, a seat height of 790 mm and a empty weight of 192 kg.

It features 19” front and 17” rear wheels, wrapped in Dunlop Mixtour Dual Sport tyres. The new motorcycle will arrive first in developed markets in early 2023 and then in Europe at a price that should be around 6000 €.
