Honda CBR250RR – The Japanese magazine Young Machine has put a Honda CBR250RR on the cover of its new March issue, stating that this very bike could be launched on the rapidly growing motorcycle market small sporty two-wheelers.

With brands like Yamaha, and its R25, and Kawasaki, and its Ninja 300, having a very strong business in several markets around the world, this Honda project could also make sense. Like most of these little Sportster models, Europe isn't really the main target, but the huge Indonesian market, which massively favors bikes under 250cc, and places like India have shown a growing interest in small-displacement sports motorcycles.

The image of the Honda CBR250RR that appears on the cover of Young Machine shows a two-wheeler that has taken parts from existing motorcycles. In fact, the bodywork is largely of CBR300R and the chassis, suspension and wheels, along with what you see of the engine, are from CBR650F. While the magazine photo, and use of the title CBR, suggests an inline engine design, Young Machine says it will be more of a four-stroke rather than a two-stroke and several Indonesian sources suggest that Honda actually already has plans for a new sports bike with a V-Twin engine which could compete with the R25.

Built in Indonesia, currently codenamed 'K64A', the rumored V-twin would probably make the most sense, since Honda already has an existing V-twin engine it can draw on as the basis for such a model, the VTR250 available for the Japanese market.
