Honda CBR1000RR – After the presentation at Intermot of the Honda CBR1000RR in SP and SP2 versions, at EICMA the spotlight is on the standard model, the new RR Fireblade: a model intended for enthusiasts who are perhaps less extreme in their needs and a little more price-conscious . Honda brings it in red and matte black color. Analyzing it aesthetically we find no difference with the Intermot versions, the front headlight is the beautiful Full LED, arrows in the mirrors, colored dashboard and a beautiful titanium exhaust. On the chassis side, however, we find a 43 mm Showa fork at the front (Sp and Sp2 are fitted with semi-active Ohlins), a Showa monoshock, equipped with Balance Free Rear Cushion (BFRC) technology, which works coupled with a more rigid swingarm than the "old ” CBR and an electronic steering damper. Under the beautiful hull we find a 4-cylinder engine capable of producing 192 hp (+11), all for a weight of 195 kg (-15) with a full tank of petrol! A weight-power ratio improved by almost 15% and in line with the most accredited rivals. There is no shortage of electronics and, in fact, we find: ryde-by-wire accelerator, various maps available, traction control, ABS and the possibility of adjusting the engine braking. All that's missing is the electronic upshift and downshift gear, present on the more expensive versions. We are waiting for the price to be revealed and to start seeing it on the street and on the track, but above all to try it!
