Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP: power and speed on the Almeria track [VIDEO]
Pilot Glenn Irwin in the saddle
Loud, progressive and indicative of great strength, the sound of the new Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is the protagonist together with the rhythm expressed on the track of Almeria.
New grit
The video shown on the page Facebook, linked to Honda Racing UK, allows you to observe part of the front area of the motorbike, following the movements of those on the saddle, the instrument panel, the fairing and the progress of the track. The motorbike is driven by the rider Glenn Irwin, as reported, standard bearer of the in brand BSB.
The acrobatic dynamism is supported by an engine composed of 4 cylinders in line, the most powerful unit ever produced in series by the Japanese brand, which shares the bore and stroke values with the RC213V prototype unit, as reported. This heart generates a maximum power of 217,5 horses a 14.500 rpm and a pair of 113 Nm a 12.500 rpm. Data to be considered with the 201 kg of the vehicle with a full tank of petrol, as reported.
The aerodynamics of the bike are also crucial, studied together with HRC specialists, also evaluating some solutions experimented during the development of the RC213V. The specimen can be covered with a livery Grand Prix Red which suggests the connotative colors linked to HRC or Matte Pearl Black. Among the aspects mentioned also a new titanium exhaust terminal with choke valve, in collaboration with Akrapovič, then a new 6-axis Bosch inertial platform (IMU), after a 5-axis solution, enhancing the management of the different parameters.
The SP variant includes a Brembo Stylema front braking system compared to a Nissin one and electronic Öhlins suspensions unlike the multi-adjustable Showa ones, so the rear caliper remains Brembo as on the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, always following the directions.
