The new one was revealed at the German Intermot show Honda CB750 Hornet, the new chapter of an interesting story. A project characterized by a streamlined design, a new frame and a new parallel twin-cylinder engine with a 270° crankshaft.

The colors combined with the new model are: Pearl Glare White with Metallic Red Flame frame and Red anodized fork; Graphite Black with Metallic Red Flame frame and Red anodized fork; Matte Iridium Gray Metallic e Mat Goldfinch Yellow. They cover a body characterized by decisive and sinuous features. A pungent aesthetic on which the designers of the Honda R&D center in Rome worked, already working on important models such as the CRF1100L Africa Twin and X-ADV, in addition to the refined Neo Sports Cafè range. After considering the connotative design of the Hornets admired in the past, they gave shape to a new contemporary vision of this example of dynamism on two wheels, characterized by a bold and connected silhouette.
Among the distinctive aspects of the new CB750 Hornet, the fuel tank also stands out, which recalls the shape of the bumblebee's wing. An element associated with the different aesthetic traits of a model distinguishable at first glance, from the sharp front to the clear and minimalist features of the rear area.
There is also a range of accessories and, to facilitate selection, there are three "packages" Sport, Style and Touring, in order to meet the needs of more motorcyclists.

Technique and technology

The new naked is equipped with light clusters full-LED and the directional indicators switch off automatically and, according to information, also integrate an emergency braking warning system ESS (Emergency Stop System).
There is one included 5 inch color TFT screen which allows a look at information and management of systems, including connectivity via Honda Smartphone Voice Control for Android and iOS devices.
Among the electronic solutions to support driving, the following stand out: a technology Throttle By Wire (TBW) and four Riding Modes, including a customizable one that combines three levels of HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) traction control integrated with anti-wheelie, along with three levels of power and engine braking adjustment.
Another aspect underlined is the best power/weight ratio in the category with dynamic qualities that can be exploited considering the technical setup of the model. The new propulsive heart is placed in a new steel frame with a diamond structure, the weight of which is contained thanks to the optimization of thickness and rigidity of the walls and tubes. The suspension part consists of a Showa SFF-BPTM upside down fork 41 millimeters and Showa shock absorber with Pro-Link linkage, while the braking system includes dual four-piston radial-mount calipers. Also functional in the technical framework are the dimensions of the tires with a front section of 120 and a back from 160.

Motor

The compact heart of the new Honda CB750 Hornet it's a parallel twin of 755 cc. An engine with 8-valve Unicam distribution, already known from the CRF overview models, characterized by vortex intake channels (Vortex Flow Duct) and descending intake ducts. Among the factors indicated also a 270° crankshaft and a primary transmission which also activates the balancer shaft. The engine is associated with a six-speed gearbox with assisted clutch and anti-hopping.
The power reaches altitude 92 horses (67,5 kW) with a torque peak of 75 Nm. Given a weight of 190 kg with a full tank of petrol, as mentioned, the best weight/power ratio of the category corresponding to 0,36 kW / kg o 2,81 kg / kW.
