Among the most interesting news on the stand Honda ad EICMA 2017 there is undoubtedly the new 2018 model of the CB1000R.

The Japanese naked has undergone a profound evolution which has affected various technical aspects ranging from the significantly reduced weight compared to the previous model to the increase in power with a surplus of 20 HP additional when compared to the power level of the old CB1000R.

To tell us in detail what the characteristics of the new Honda CB1000R are and to understand how the Japanese company intervened on the design of its new two-wheeler, we met Soya Uchida, Chief Engineer of Honda Moto. During our interview conducted at EICMA, which you can see and listen to in the video posted below, Soya Uchida spoke to us about what lies behind the new Honda CB1000R and its promise to offer a unique and distinctive driving pleasure.

Precisely agility, manageability and ease of driving are the terrains on which the Honda CB1000R aims to offer more than the competition in the segment, perhaps giving up something in terms of power. As Honda Moto's chief engineer himself explains to us, in developing the new CB1000R the Japanese company did not want to propose an engine with top power in the segment, despite guaranteeing 145 HP.

Honda has rather focused on aspects such as pleasure and driving fun for those who get on the new CB1000R. Qualities that must be discovered in everyday driving in city traffic, also because, as Uchida points out, the engine of the new CB1000R was not developed to give its best on the track, instead being able to exploit its qualities in daily driving including improved acceleration thanks to shortened ratios between the first three gears.

To find out what else Soya Uchida revealed to us, all you have to do is press play on the video below and listen to our interview in full.
