Honda, Africa Twin Tour: an adventure in Sardinia from 18 to 21 May 2022

A new journey for interested specimen enthusiasts Honda who want to discover the Sardinia By motorbike. A new Africa Twin Tour on the suggestive roads of the island, after the 2019 editions in Maremma and last year on the stretches of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines. The new edition is scheduled from 18 al 21 May 2022.

The initiative

The Tour is aimed at interested adults who own Honda on/off motorcycle di at least 500cc, with a minimum autonomy of 180 real km and in compliance with the Highway Code. Bearing in mind the increased suspension travel, the new one is also permitted Honda NT1100.
The itinerary covers it over 650 km between asphalted roads and short dirt roads, always in the company of the instructors True Adventure Off Road Academy. The Tour Leader is Carlo Morini, instructor of the True Adventure Offroad Academy, expert enduro rider, pilot, traveler and profound connoisseur of the itineraries, given that he lives in the area. A support van carries luggage and a spare motorbike.
For those who do not own a Honda on/off motorbike or prefer to rent, a fleet of Africa Twin 1100 Adventure Sports is available for a surcharge of 300 euros, according to the indications.

The itinerary

The Tour, composed for 90% da asphalted roads and for the 10% da dirt paths, allows you to admire suggestive places in Sardinia, among curves and natural scenery. The route includes sections that highlight the dynamism of the specimens and secondary sections where you can appreciate the landscape and the surrounding environment.
The overnight stays take place in different locations: a first night at 1.100 meters above sea level, at the Agriturismo Donnortei in the park of the same name; while the next at the well-known EcoResort Arbatax Park Hotel. The overall program is dense from the start.
We leave on Wednesday 18st May after a late afternoon meeting at the official Honda Balzarini Moto dealer, near the port of Livorno. On this occasion, we would like to point out an aperitif, briefing and collection of the rented units for those who have opted for this solution. The group boards the ferry at 21pm, and then spends the night sailing towards Olbia.

Landed the 19st May and having had breakfast in a pastry shop, the first day of a 250 km long tour begins to admire lesser-known points of Sardinia towards the mountains and also suggestive settings such as the Burgos Forest. The stop for lunch is scheduled near a thousand-year-old nuraghe.
Resuming the route, you reach the Gennargentu mountains to admire the view from the heights, before being able to rest in the highest hotel structure in Sardinia, the Agriturismo and Wildlife Oasis of the Donnortei Park already mentioned.

La "marathon" of the Sardinian itinerary is scheduled for the following day, Friday 20st May. Heading southwest, participants travel around the highest elevations of the island while also crossing the lake area. After a lunch at a farmhouse, we continue towards the sea towards Arbatax, where a new overnight stay is planned at the well-known EcoResort.

We return to travel on Saturday 21st May for approximately 230 km going up the eastern ridge on the well-known Baunei/Orosei, one of the most beautiful roads in Sardinia. We stop for lunch near the sea, in a suggestive pine forest. In the afternoon we return inland, after Orosei, tackling secondary roads until we reach Pittolongu beach, above Olbia, for the conclusion of the event scheduled for 17 pm with an aperitif on the sea.
We then board a ferry at 21pm to return to Livorno after another night spent in a private cabin. The disembarkation is scheduled for Sunday 00 May, the day of the return of the rental motorbikes and the final farewells.

Proposal

The reported participation fees are:

– 970 euros for the pilot only;
– 1.270 euros for rider only with rental motorbike;
– 1.560 euros pilot + passenger;
– 1.860 euros rider + passenger with rental motorbike
