Honda working on new airbags

The world of two wheels is aware that for competition on the market a fundamental card to play is safety. Honda has understood this and has been investing time and resources in the development of for some time air bag for motorbikes that are increasingly enveloping and quick to react, therefore trying to reduce the minimizes the risk of injury to the motorcyclist whenever he is involved in an accident or fall.

So far only theHonda Gold Wing it is the motorcycle on the market from the Japanese company that is equipped with an airbag mounted at the height of the tank. The Honda team's research and development activity is now focusing on other additional airbags to be mounted in the instrumentation area. At this stage, in the studies and preliminary tests, great attention was paid especially to head-on accidents, which often throw the motorcyclist forward.

Honda has therefore mounted the prototype of this new airbag on one CB 1300, trying to test its functionality and effectiveness. These airbags also have the ability to inflate in a different position, either more to the right or more to the left, depending on the angle the steering wheel is in at the time.
