Harley-Davidson: a birthday to celebrate with a new generation of touring

Precisely on August 28, 1903, William Harley, Arthur, William and Walter Davidson founded one of the most important brands in the history of two wheels, which became a symbol of freedom as well as a real lifestyle.

Harley-Davidson: the birth of a myth

Harley-Davidson's development was sudden and the four partners quickly managed to create a factory capable of producing 150 motorcycles. Vehicles so appreciated that the contract for the supply of motorcycles for the Stars and Stripes police soon arrived. During the First World War Harley-Davidson becomes the largest manufacturer thanks to an extraordinary order of almost 45 thousand pieces placed by the army for military operations. A similar scenario was repeated during the Second World War, allowing the Milwaukee company to establish itself more and more. Films like “The Wild One” and “Easy Rider” then made motorcycles go down in history. Over the years, HD has become, as we said at the beginning, a symbol of freedom and union. It is no coincidence that, today, "Harley fans" are a large community with people from all social classes, but united by the passion for these special two wheels.

Harley-Davidson: all the news for 2019

In view of 2019, the entire Harley-Davidson Touring range has been updated, especially thanks to the introduction of the series engines Milwaukee-Eight V-Twin 114 on the models Road King Special, Road Glide Special, Street Glide Special, UltraLimited, Ultra Limited Low e Road Glide Ultra. The new engine will guarantee more torque, but also more acceleration and lower weight. The Freewheeler and Tri Glide Ultra models will also be equipped with the Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, as well as an SDBV front fork and easily adjustable rear suspension to make every ride smoother and more comfortable. The new one will lead the way Harley Davidson FXDR 114, a beautiful cruiser with lots of muscles and the intention of further raising the performance bar that we have presented to you over the past few days (read on). But that is not all. The entire 2019 Touring range is equipped as standard with the new BOOM infotainment system! Box GTS, which includes a more complete satellite navigator, DAB radio and compatibility with Apple CarPlay, to ensure that every journey has the right soundtrack.

Harley-Davidson: a look at the future

Harley-Davidson is not just history and traction, but also innovation and so the company is ready to rewrite its centuries-old history and announce a true revolution conducted with passion and engines. In Milwaukee, in fact, they are preparing to launch four models by 2022 that will allow them to embrace a transversal audience. The flagship will be theHarley Davidson Pan America 1250, the first model to hark back to the world of Adventure Touring. Beyond the images of the prototype already available online, the launch is scheduled for 2020. Then there is theHarley-Davidson LiveWire, the long-awaited (and talked about) electric HD which, as we announced (read here), will see the light in 2019 and will pave the way for a broader line of zero-emission motorcycles which will be ready in 2022. Street Fighter 975 cc will be part of the new modular platform of Harley-Davidson motorcycles with intermediate displacements, therefore varying from 125 cc to 500cc. Also in this case the release is scheduled for 2020. Last but not least, a new custom with a muscular and aggressive look will also be born, with an essential style and a 1250 cc engine that promises great performance which will see the light of 2021.
